1. The 16th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas (PBD) is observed on 9 January 2020. The day is celebrated to recognize the overseas Indians who have contributed to the development of India.
16वा प्रवासी भारतीय दिवस (PBD) 9 जानेवारी 2020 रोजी साजरा केला जात आहे. हा दिवस भारताच्या विकासात योगदान देणार्‍या परदेशी भारतीयांना ओळखण्यासाठी साजरा केला जातो.

2. A ten-day-long art exhibition commemorating the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi was inaugurated in Dhaka.
महात्मा गांधी यांच्या 150 व्या जयंतीनिमित्त दहा दिवस चालणार्‍या कला प्रदर्शनाचे उद्घाटन ढाका येथे करण्यात आले.

3. The Government has approved the Viability Gap Funding, VGF of 5 thousand, 559 crore rupees to Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited to build Natural Gas Pipeline Grid covering 8 North Eastern states.
पूर्वोत्तर 8 राज्यांतील नैसर्गिक गॅस पाईपलाईन ग्रिड तयार करण्यासाठी इंद्रधनुश गॅस ग्रिड लिमिटेडला 5 हजार, 559 कोटी रुपयांच्या व्हेबिलिटी गॅप फंडिंगला सरकारने मान्यता दिली आहे.

4. Country’s largest public sector bank, State Bank of India has announced a ‘residential builder finance with buyer guarantee’ (RBBG) scheme.
देशातील सर्वात मोठी सार्वजनिक क्षेत्रातील बँक, स्टेट बँक ऑफ इंडियाने ‘रहिवासी बिल्डर फायनान्स विथ बायर गॅरंटी’ (RBBG) योजना जाहीर केली आहे.

5. The government has set a fresh deadline for the completion of the world’s highest railway bridge that connects Kashmir to the rest of India by December 2021. It is the most challenging project in the post-independent history of the Indian Railways.
काश्मिरला उर्वरित भारताशी जोडणाऱ्या जगातील सर्वोच्च रेल्वे पुलाच्या कामकाजासाठी सरकारने २०२१ च्या डिसेंबरपर्यंत नवीन मुदत दिली आहे. स्वातंत्र्योत्तर इतिहासातील हा सर्वात आव्हानात्मक प्रकल्प आहे.

6. The Union Cabinet chaired by the PM Narendra Modi approved to confer the Institution of National Importance status to the Institute of Teaching and Research in Ayurveda, Jamnagar.
पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखालील केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडळाने जामनगरच्या आयुर्वेद येथील शिक्षण व संशोधन संस्थेला राष्ट्रीय महत्त्व संस्थेचा दर्जा देण्यास मान्यता दिली.

7. South Korea has become the eighth country in the world to offer universal high-speed Internet to the whole country.
संपूर्ण देशाला युनिव्हर्सल हाय स्पीड इंटरनेट देणारा दक्षिण कोरिया जगातील आठवा देश ठरला आहे.

8. Common Service Centres (CSC) e-Governance Services India has signed a memorandum of understanding with Paytm Payments Bank Ltd (PPBL) for sale of FASTags.
कॉमन सर्व्हिस सेंटर (सीएससी) ई-गव्हर्नन्स सर्व्हिसेस इंडियाने फास्टटॅग च्या विक्रीसाठी पेटीएम पेमेंट्स बँक लिमिटेड (PPBL) सह सामंजस्य करार केला आहे.

9. Indian wrestler Harshvardhan Sadgir won the Maharashtra Kesari title in the 63rd wrestling event at Balewadi near Pune on 7 January 2020. He defeated his opponent Shailesh Shelek of Latur to claim the title.
07  जानेवारी 2020 रोजी पुण्याजवळील बालेवाडी येथे झालेल्या 63 व्या कुस्ती स्पर्धेत भारतीय कुस्तीपटू हर्षवर्धन सदगीरने महाराष्ट्र केसरीचे विजेतेपद जिंकले. विजेतेपदासाठी त्याने लातूरच्या प्रतिस्पर्धी शैलेश शेलकचा पराभव केला.

10. India’s P Magesh Chandran won 95th edition of the prestigious Hastings International Chess Congress at Hastings in England.
इंग्लंडमधील हेस्टिंग्ज येथे प्रतिष्ठित हेस्टिंग्ज आंतरराष्ट्रीय बुद्धिबळ कॉंग्रेसच्या 95 व्या आवृत्तीत भारताचे पी मॅगेश चंद्रन यांनी विजय मिळविला.
