1. Three IITs and the Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore have made the cut among top 20 varsities in BRICS countries in the latest Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) Rankings. The Indian Institute of Technology Bombay has secured ninth rank followed by IISc, Bangalore (10), IIT Delhi (15) and IIT Madras (18). China’s Tsinghua University has topped this list.
तीन आयआयटी आणि इंडियन इन्स्टिटय़ूट ऑफ सायन्स, बेंगळुरू हे BRICS देशांतील टॉप 20 विद्यापीठांमध्ये क्वॅक्वेरीली सायमन्ड्स (क्यूएस) रॅकिंगमध्ये नव्याने स्थान पटकावले आहे. इंडियन इंस्टिट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नॉलॉजी मुंबईने आयआयएससी, बंगळुरू (10), आयआयटी दिल्ली (15) आणि आयआयटी मद्रास (18) हे स्थान पटकावले आहे. चीनच्या त्सिंगहुआ विद्यापीठाने या यादीत अव्वल स्थान पटकावले आहे.

2. Former national rugby captain Aga Hussain has been elected the president of Asia Rugby. He has thus become the first Indian to occupy the post.
माजी राष्ट्रीय रग्बी कर्णधार आगा हुसैन आशिया रग्बी अध्यक्ष म्हणून निवडून आले आहे अशाप्रकारे ते पद धारण करणारे पहिले भारतीय बनले आहेत.

3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the 5th Global Conference on Cyber Space in New Delhi. The theme of the conference is Cyber for All: A Secure and Inclusive Cyberspace for Sustainable Development.
नवी दिल्ली येथे सायबर स्पेसवरील 5 व्या वैश्विक परिषदेचे उद्घाटन पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी केले. परिषदेची थीम म्हणजे सायबर फॉर ऑल: ए सिक्युअर अँड समावेशक सायबरस्पेस फॉर सस्टेनेबल डेव्हलपमेंट.

4. Bareilly’s Shubhangi Swaroop became the first-ever female pilot to be inducted into the Indian Navy.
बरेलीचे शुभांगी स्वरूप  ही भारतीय नौदलात सामील होणारी पहिली महिला वैमानिक ठरली.

5. Zimbabwe’s former Vice President Emmerson Mnangagwa will be sworn in as the new President of the country.
झिम्बाब्वेचे माजी उपराष्ट्रपती एम्मर्सन मन्नंगागव्हा देशाचे नवीन राष्ट्राध्यक्ष म्हणून शपथ घेतील.

6. Basel will become the first city to jointly host the Badminton and Para Badminton World Championships after it was awarded the 2019 edition of the Para event.
2019 च्या पॅरा इव्हेंटच्या पुरस्काराने सन्मानित झाल्यानंतर बॅडमिंटन आणि पॅरा बॅडमिंटन वर्ल्ड चॅम्पियनशिपचे संयुक्तपणे आयोजन करण्यासाठी बासेल प्रथम शहर ठरेल.

7. The Union Cabinet has approved setting up of 15th Finance Commission (FC).
केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडळाने 15 व्या वित्त आयोगाची (एफसी) स्थापना करण्यास मान्यता दिली आहे.

8. Sri Lankan author Anuk Arudpragasam has been awarded with the Shakti Bhatt First Book Prize 2017 for his novel ‘The Story of a Brief Marriage’.
‘द स्टोरी ऑफ अ ब्रीफ मॅरेज’ या कादंबरीसाठी श्रीलंकेचे लेखक अनूक अरुदप्रगमम यांना शक्ती भट्ट फर्स्ट बुक प्राइज 2017 मिळाले आहे.

9. The Union Cabinet gave its approval for signing of an agreement between India and the Philippines on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters.
केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडळाने भारत आणि फिलीपिन्स यांच्यातील सीमाशुल्कविषयक बाबींमध्ये सहकार्य आणि परस्पर सहकार्य यांच्यातील करारावर स्वाक्षरी करण्याची परवानगी दिली.

10. The Union Cabinet approved India’s membership for European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD).
केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडळाने युरोपियन बॅंक फॉर रिकन्स्ट्रक्शन अँड डेव्हलपमेंट (ईबीआरडी) साठी भारताची सदस्यता मान्य केली.
