The Indian Army organized a 14-day specialized training program for Central Industrial Security Force personnel at Maharaja Bir Bikram Airport, Agartala (Tripura) from 27 July 2026 to 8 August 2026. | 2. Parliament passed the Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Bill, 2026 on 13 August 2026. | 3. DigiLocker and Unified Mobile Application for New-age Governance (UMANG) are the digital public platforms, which are part of Digital India program. | 4. On 12 August 2026, scientists at the CSIR-Indian Institute of Chemical Technology (CSIR-IICT), Hyderabad developed a plant-based phytopharmaceutical drug candidate for diabetic foot ulcers. The candidate is based on Gymnema sylvestre, a medicinal plant known as Gurmar or Podapatri. | 5. Karnataka has prohibited the manufacture, storage, distribution, transportation and sale of tobacco and nicotine products, including gutkha, pan masala and related commercial supply chains. The statewide notification has been implemented for a period of one year under powers exercised by the Commissioner of the Department of Food Safety and Drugs Administration under Section 30(2)(a) of the Food Safety and Standards Act, 2006. कर्नाटकने गुटखा, पान मसाला आणि संबंधित व्यावसायिक पुरवठा साखळ्यांसह तंबाखू व निकोटीनयुक्त उत्पादनांचे उत्पादन, साठवणूक, वितरण, वाहतूक आणि विक्री यांवर बंदी घातली आहे. ‘अन्न सुरक्षा आणि मानके कायदा,2006’ च्या कलम 30(2)(अ) अन्वये प्राप्त अधिकारांचा वापर करून, अन्न सुरक्षा आणि औषध प्रशासन विभागाच्या आयुक्तांनी ही राज्यव्यापी अधिसूचना एका वर्षाच्या कालावधीसाठी लागू केली आहे. |
| 6. On 12 August 2026, Indian Railroads approved the deployment of Kavach Version 4.0 over 660 route kilometers on the Izzatnagar Division of the North Eastern Railroad. The project has been sanctioned with an outlay of ₹295 crore and the plan is under the umbrella project titled “Provision of Kavach with communication backbone of Long-Term Evolution (LTE) on balance sections of Indian Railways”. 12 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी, भारतीय रेल्वेने उत्तर-पूर्व रेल्वेच्या इज्जतनगर विभागातील 660 मार्ग-किलोमीटर (route kilometers) अंतरावर ‘कवच’ (Kavach) आवृत्ती 4.0 कार्यान्वित करण्यास मंजुरी दिली. या प्रकल्पासाठी 295 कोटी रुपयांची तरतूद मंजूर करण्यात आली असून, हा प्रकल्प “भारतीय रेल्वेच्या उर्वरित विभागांवर ‘लॉन्ग-टर्म इव्होल्यूशन’ (LTE) कम्युनिकेशन बॅकबोनसह ‘कवच’ प्रणालीची उभारणी” या व्यापक प्रकल्पाचा एक भाग आहे. |
| 7. 12 August 2026, New Delhi – The Digital India BHASHINI Division and NITI Aayog signed a Statement of Intent to take forward multilingual, voice-first artificial intelligence for public governance. The Digital India BHASHINI Division operates under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology. | 8. Gujarat gets nod for Desert Zoological Park, Nite Safari at Juna Deesa in Banaskantha district. The park will be built on some 103 hectares of contiguous government land and is envisaged as Asia’s first desert-themed drive-through nite safari. बनासकांठा जिल्ह्यातील जुना डीसा येथे ‘डेझर्ट झूओलॉजिकल पार्क’ आणि ‘नाईट सफारी’ उभारण्यास गुजरातला मंजुरी मिळाली आहे. हे उद्यान सुमारे 103 हेक्टरच्या सलग सरकारी जमिनीवर उभारले जाणार असून, आशियातील वाळवंटाच्या संकल्पनेवर आधारित पहिली ‘ड्राइव्ह-थ्रू नाईट सफारी’ म्हणून याची आखणी करण्यात आली आहे. |
