1. The Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) has successfully completed six years recently, a remarkable milestone in the fisheries sector of India.

‘प्रधानमंत्री मत्स्य संपदा योजने’ने (PMMSY) नुकतीच सहा वर्षे यशस्वीरीत्या पूर्ण केली आहेत; हा भारतातील मत्स्यव्यवसाय क्षेत्रातील एक उल्लेखनीय टप्पा आहे.

2. India hosted the 18th BRICS Summit (2026) in New Delhi on the theme “Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability”. This was India’s fourth BRICS Chairship. The summit ended with the adoption by consensus of the New Delhi Declaration, which emphasized multilateralism, the prevention of conflicts and equitable global governance.

भारताने नवी दिल्ली येथे ‘लवचिकता, नाविन्य, सहकार्य आणि शाश्वतता यांसाठी उभारणी’ (Building for Resilience, Innovation, Cooperation and Sustainability) या संकल्पनेवर आधारित 18 व्या ब्रिक्स (BRICS) शिखर परिषदेचे (2026) आयोजन केले. भारताचे हे ब्रिक्सचे चौथे अध्यक्षपद होते. बहुपक्षीयता, संघर्ष रोखणे आणि न्याय्य जागतिक प्रशासन यांवर भर देणाऱ्या ‘नवी दिल्ली जाहीरनाम्या’च्या सर्वसंमतीने स्वीकारार्हतेसह या शिखर परिषदेची सांगता झाली.

3. In his recent recall of Swami Vivekananda’s 1893 Chicago Address, Prime Minister remembered its enduring contribution in showcasing India’s civilizational ethos, spiritual traditions and message of universal harmony to the world.

4. New Delhi: The National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) has summoned senior executives of Meta, the parent company of Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp, over advertisements promoting Child Sexual Exploitative and Abuse Material (CSEAM) on its platforms.

नवी दिल्ली: फेसबुक, इंस्टाग्राम आणि व्हॉट्सॲपची मूळ कंपनी असलेल्या ‘मेटा’च्या वरिष्ठ अधिकाऱ्यांना ‘राष्ट्रीय बाल हक्क संरक्षण आयोगा’ने (NCPCR) समन्स बजावले आहे. मेटाच्या प्लॅटफॉर्म्सवर बालकांचे लैंगिक शोषण आणि अत्याचाराशी संबंधित मजकूर (CSEAM) दर्शवणाऱ्या जाहिरातींना प्रोत्साहन दिले जात असल्याच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर हे पाऊल उचलण्यात आले आहे.

5. The Department of Consumer Affairs has notified the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) (Amendment) Rules, 2026 to make consumer rights more robust, ensure fair trade practices and put a check on deceptive digital practices with an objective to strike a balance between consumer protection and ease of doing business.

ग्राहक संरक्षण आणि व्यवसाय सुलभता (ease of doing business) यांच्यात समतोल साधण्याच्या उद्देशाने, ग्राहकांचे हक्क अधिक बळकट करण्यासाठी, निष्पक्ष व्यापार पद्धती सुनिश्चित करण्यासाठी आणि दिशाभूल करणाऱ्या डिजिटल पद्धतींवर नियंत्रण ठेवण्यासाठी ग्राहक व्यवहार विभागाने ‘ग्राहक संरक्षण (ई-कॉमर्स) (सुधारणा) नियम, 2026’ अधिसूचित केले आहेत.

6. The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has referred Iran to the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) for the first time in 20 years for Tehran’s continuing failure to meet its nuclear non-proliferation obligations and its serious lack of cooperation with international nuclear inspectors.

अणु-प्रसारबंदीविषयक आपल्या दायित्वांची पूर्तता करण्यात सातत्याने अपयशी ठरल्यामुळे आणि आंतरराष्ट्रीय अणु-निरीक्षकांना सहकार्य करण्याबाबत गंभीर कमतरता दर्शवल्यामुळे, ‘आंतरराष्ट्रीय अणुऊर्जा संस्थे’ने (IAEA) गेल्या 20 वर्षांत पहिल्यांदाच इराणचे प्रकरण ‘संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषदे’कडे (UNSC) सोपवले आहे.

7. Recently, Prime Minister paid homage to Acharya Vinoba Bhave on his birth anniversary by recalling his message of ‘Jai Jagat’ which lifted the human race above social, political and geographical boundaries.

अलीकडेच, पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी आचार्य विनोबा भावे यांच्या जयंतीनिमित्त त्यांना आदरांजली वाहिली आणि मानवी समूहाला सामाजिक, राजकीय व भौगोलिक सीमांच्या पलीकडे नेणाऱ्या त्यांच्या ‘जय जगत’ या संदेशाचे स्मरण केले.

8. Pressure on the International Criminal Court (ICC) has mounted after the United States imposed sanctions on the Court, including sanctions on ICC officials, and worked to encourage member states to withdraw, while Venezuela and Chad said they plan to leave the Rome Statute.

अमेरिकेने आंतरराष्ट्रीय फौजदारी न्यायालयावर (ICC) आणि त्यातील अधिकाऱ्यांवर निर्बंध लादले तसेच सदस्य देशांना माघार घेण्यास प्रोत्साहित केले, ज्यामुळे या न्यायालयावरील दबाव वाढला आहे; त्याच वेळी व्हेनेझुएला आणि चाड यांनी ‘रोम करारा’तून (Rome Statute) बाहेर पडण्याची योजना असल्याचे जाहीर केले आहे.
