| 1. On September 2, Prime Minister Narendra Modi opened Semicon India 2025 at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi. This was a big step forward for India’s semiconductor industry. Over 20,750 people are expected to attend the three-day event from September 2 to 4. This includes 2,500 delegates from 48 nations who will talk about India’s rising significance in designing and making semiconductors around the world. Advertisement

| 2. Recently, the Ministry of Tribal Affairs released the Beta version of Adi Vaani. It is India’s first AI-based translation service for tribal languages. The launch happened at the Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh festivities at the Dr. Ambedkar International Centre in New Delhi. | 3. The Indian government is working harder to check and update the list of those who are eligible for the Pradhan Mantri Garib Kalyan Anna Yojana (PMGKAY). The goal of this action is to make sure that free food benefits go to the people who really need them while keeping the cost of food subsidies down. States like Rajasthan and Odisha have made progress by removing millions of ineligible beneficiaries. | 4. Xi Jinping, the president of China, started the Global Governance Initiative (GGI) at the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Plus (SCO Plus) conference in Tianjin in 2025. The meeting had SCO member states, conversation partners like Türkiye, and others that were just there to watch. Xi stressed how important it is to have a fair and just system of global governance. | 5. PRATUSH is a new radiometer that was made possible by recent breakthroughs in space technology. It will be used to study the Cosmic Dawn, the time when the first stars and galaxies formed. This little system, which is based on a single-board computer (SBC) around the size of a credit card, is meant to pick up weak radio signals from hydrogen atoms in lunar orbit. PRATUSH will help us learn more about the Universe’s early phase by picking up signals that are hard to hear because of noise from Earth. | 6. Under Article 6.2 of the Paris Agreement, India and Japan have signed a memorandum of cooperation on a Joint Credit Mechanism (JCM). The goal of this alliance is to make carbon trading stronger, bring in more money, and speed up the process of finding new ways to do things that are good for the environment. The deal comes at a time when the US is raising tariffs on Indian exports and China is limiting the export of rare earth metals. | 7. The 21st India–USA joint military exercise, Yudh Abhyas 2025, began in Fort Wainwright, Alaska. This exercise will take place from September 1 to 14, 2025, and will involve troops from the Indian Army’s Madras Regiment and the US 1st Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment Bobcats of the Arctic Wolves Brigade Combat Team, 11th Airborne Division. | 8. Recent findings show that killer whales (Orcinus orca) are acting in a strange way. People have seen these big dolphins share their freshly captured food with people. Killer whales are different from most wild animals in that they wait for people to reply before taking their gift.
