| 1. New research shows that child marriage is going down in India. Just Rights for Children has a new analysis that shows a 69% drop in girls and a 72% drop in boys. The government, state agencies, and civil society all worked together to make this progress happen. In September 2025, Malaysia hosted the World Tourism Conference in Melaka. | 3. The Indian Railways has made the Kokrajhar-Gelephu train route a Special Railway Project (SRP). This 69-kilometer rail link is the first time that India and Bhutan have ever been connected by train. The goal of the move is to speed up the project as part of the government’s Act East agenda. | 5. India has put out draft rules for the third generation of the Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency (CAFE) standards. These proposed guidelines would make it easier for tiny automobiles to meet pollution limits and encourage people to choose electric cars. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) has made the draft available for public comment. The rules apply to M1 category vehicles, which are passenger automobiles with up to nine passengers and a weight limit of 3,500 kg. | 7. The Indian Ports Act, 2025, which Parliament passed in August 2025, replaces the Indian Ports Act, 1908, which was almost 100 years old.
