| 1. Scientists have found a new type of exoplanet that is always in a molten, liquid-like state. The James Webb Space Telescope’s observations led to the discovery, which goes against the usual ways of classifying small planets. | 2. The Indian Navy is taking part in Exercise Sea Dragon 2026, a multinational anti-submarine warfare (ASW) drill led by the United States that is taking place at Andersen Air Force Base in Guam. The exercise, which takes place every year in the Indo-Pacific, is even more important now because of changing geopolitical tensions, especially in West Asia, where things are still unstable. | 3. The Indian government has made it easier for foreign companies with up to 10% Chinese ownership to invest in India automatically. The Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) announced the change, which is meant to make it easier for investments to flow while still protecting against strategic risks. | 4. In the Rajya Sabha elections from Bihar, the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) won all five seats that were up for election. Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, BJP state president Nitin Nabin, Union minister Ram Nath Thakur, Rashtriya Lok Morcha (RLM) president Upendra Kushwaha, and BJP state general secretary Shivesh Kumar were all winners. Kusunpur village in Odisha’s Kendrapada district is set to become the state’s first “smart village” under a technology-driven rural development initiative led by the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR). The project aims to integrate modern technologies into everyday life and agriculture, creating a sustainable and self-reliant rural ecosystem. | 6. The World Bank has agreed to lend Uttar Pradesh about $300 million to help them improve air quality through a full clean air transition program. The money will go to the Uttar Pradesh Clean Air Management Program, which works to reduce pollution in areas like transportation, farming, and industry. | 7. Indian animation received global recognition after the animated short film CHYIMI won the Best Director Award at the New York Short Animation Festival (NYSAF) 2026. Dr. Partha Sarathi Mahanta is the director of the movie. He is also the Commissioner of Police in Guwahati and the Inspector General of Police (IGP) in Assam. On February 27, 2026, India sent its First National Report (NR1) on how it is following the Nagoya Protocol on Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS) to the Convention on Biological Diversity’s Secretariat. The Ministry of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change worked with the National Biodiversity Authority to write the report. It talks about India’s progress in following the protocol and making biodiversity governance stronger from November 1, 2017, to December 31, 2025.
