| 1. Japan has agreed to cooperate with India to commence commercial operations on the priority sections of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad High-Speed Rail project by 2027. The 508-km corridor will be built on Japanese Shinkansen technology and will see the introduction of E10 trains on the route. Advertisement

| 2. The Global Biofuels Alliance inducted 15 early-career researchers as the first cohort of Global Biofuel Champion Fellows at the India Habitat Centre in New Delhi on 30 June 2026. | 3. India’s ACME Group’s ACME Green Molecules Business signed a binding long term Purchase and Sale Agreement with Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company on July 3, 2026. The contract covers the supply of 100,000 tonnes per annum of green methanol and is estimated to be worth around USD 1 billion. भारतातील ‘अॅक्मे ग्रुप’च्या (ACME Group) ‘अॅक्मे ग्रीन मॉलिक्युल्स’ (ACME Green Molecules) या व्यवसायाने 3 जुलै 2026 रोजी ‘मित्सुबिशी गॅस केमिकल कंपनी’सोबत (Mitsubishi Gas Chemical Company) खरेदी-विक्रीचा एक बंधनकारक दीर्घकालीन करार केला. या करारामध्ये दरवर्षी 100,000 टन ‘ग्रीन मिथेनॉल’च्या पुरवठ्याचा समावेश असून, याचे मूल्य अंदाजे 1 अब्ज अमेरिकन डॉलर्स इतके आहे. |
| 4. On 2 July 2026, Delhi launched the ‘Delhi Next – Code, Create and Change’ programme as a civic-tech innovation programme for government departments in the National Capital Territory of Delhi. Lokhande Prashant Sitaram, an Indian Administrative Service officer of the AGMUT cadre of the 2001 batch, has been appointed Additional Secretary in the Department of Home, Ministry of Home Affairs, w.e.f. 2 July 2026.
