| 1. Vikram Misri has been appointed India’s next Foreign Secretary. He’ll start his new position on July 15. Vinay Mohan Kwatra’s tenure was extended by six months earlier this year, and this appointment follows it. According to a government statement issued by the Personnel Ministry, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet approved the appointment. Misri was elevated, although his responsibilities as Deputy National Security Advisor (NSA) were also reduced.

| 3. In 2023, India had the greatest remittance inflows in the world, totaling USD 125 billion. This increase was mostly generated by strategic economic transactions and strong employment markets in other nations, particularly the United States, United Kingdom, and Singapore. One significant bilateral deal with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) stood out. It made it easier for both countries to trade using their respective currencies.

| 4. The Uttar Pradesh administration, led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has confirmed that a bioplastic park will be created in the Lakhimpur Kheri district. The concept originated as a result of growing concern about the environmental impact of petroleum-based plastics. The park is located in Kumbhi village, Gola Gokarnnath tehsil, and spans 1,000 hectares. It will be constructed fast, with an investment of around Rs 2 billion.
