1. In March 2024, the Geographical Indication (GI) registration of India included 22 more items from the states of Assam, Uttar Pradesh, Tripura, and Meghalaya. These items have been granted protection under the GI designation, which acknowledges their distinctive characteristics and geographical provenance.

3. Three traditional goods from Tripura have just been granted the Geographical Indication (GI) badge. The items available include Matabari pera prasad and Rignai pachara textiles. As a result, Tripura now possesses a total of 4 goods that are protected under the Geographical Indication (GI) status.

The Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas recently launched India’s inaugural small-scale liquefied natural gas (SSLNG) facility at GAIL (India) Ltd’s Vijaipur complex in Madhya Pradesh.This development is a component of the government’s wider strategy to encourage the utilisation of natural gas in different industries and raise its proportion in the nation’s main energy combination to 15% by 2030.
