| 1. The Union Cabinet on 31 July 2026 approved the revised Khelo India Scheme and increased Assistance to National Sports Federations Scheme. The total outlay will be Rs 36,441 crore during the period between 2026-27 and 2030-31. केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडळाने 31 जुलै 2026 रोजी सुधारित ‘खेलो इंडिया’ योजना आणि ‘राष्ट्रीय क्रीडा महासंघांना सहाय्य’ योजनेतील वाढीव तरतुदींना मंजुरी दिली. 2026-27 ते 203031 या कालावधीसाठी यासाठी एकूण 36,441 कोटी रुपयांची तरतूद करण्यात आली आहे. या पॅकेजमध्ये तळागाळातील क्रीडा-प्रतिभा शोधणे, खेळाडूंचा विकास, क्रीडा पायाभूत सुविधा आणि राष्ट्रीय महासंघांना सहाय्य या बाबींचा समावेश आहे. |
| 2. Air Marshal Sandeep Thareja has been appointed as Director General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS) of India with effect from 31 August 2026. He will succeed Surgeon Vice Admiral Arti Sarin, who will retire on Aug. 31, 2026. Prior to this appointment, he was Director General Medical Services (Air). एअर मार्शल संदीप थरेजा यांची 31 ऑगस्ट 2026 पासून भारताचे ‘महासंचालक, सशस्त्र दल वैद्यकीय सेवा’ (DGAFMS) म्हणून नियुक्ती करण्यात आली आहे. ते सर्जन व्हाईस ॲडमिरल आरती सरीन यांची जागा घेतील, ज्या 31 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी निवृत्त होणार आहेत. या नियुक्तीपूर्वी ते ‘महासंचालक वैद्यकीय सेवा (वायुसेना)’ या पदावर कार्यरत होते. |
| 3. The Union Cabinet on 31 July 2026 approved extension of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme for a period of five years. The scheme will now be implemented from 2026-27 to 2030-31 with a total financial outlay of Rs 3,15,614 crore . केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडळाने 31 जुलै 2026 रोजी ‘प्रधानमंत्री किसान सन्मान निधी’ (PM-KISAN) योजनेला पाच वर्षांसाठी मुदतवाढ देण्यास मंजुरी दिली. आता ही योजना 3,15,614 कोटी रुपयांच्या एकूण आर्थिक तरतुदीसह 2026-27 ते 2030-31 या कालावधीत राबविली जाईल. |
| 4. The Union Cabinet approved the Samudra Manthan National Offshore Exploration Scheme on 31 July, 2026. The scheme is a central sector scheme under the Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas with an approved outlay of ₹84,084 crore up to financial year 2030-31. केंद्रीय मंत्रिमंडळाने 31 जुलै 2026 रोजी ‘समुद्र मंथन राष्ट्रीय ऑफशोर शोध योजना’ (Samudra Manthan National Offshore Exploration Scheme) मंजूर केली. ही पेट्रोलियम आणि नैसर्गिक वायू मंत्रालयांतर्गत राबवली जाणारी ‘केंद्रीय क्षेत्रातील योजना’ (Central Sector Scheme) असून, यासाठी 2029-30 या आर्थिक वर्षापर्यंत 84,084 कोटी रुपयांची तरतूद मंजूर करण्यात आली आहे. |
| 5. Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram in Vizianagaram district, Andhra Pradesh on 1 August 2026. The airport is the first greenfield international airport in Andhra Pradesh after the bifurcation of the state in 2014. पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी 01 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी आंध्र प्रदेशातील विजयनगरम जिल्ह्यातील भोगपुरम येथे ‘अल्लुरी सीताराम राजू आंतरराष्ट्रीय विमानतळा’चे उद्घाटन केले. 2014 मध्ये राज्याची फाळणी झाल्यानंतर आंध्र प्रदेशातील हे पहिलेच ‘ग्रीनफील्ड’ आंतरराष्ट्रीय विमानतळ आहे. |
| 6. The Union government released an additional tax devolution of ₹1,09,019 crore to state governments on 1 August 2026. The transfer was made before the normal monthly tax devolution due on 10 August 2026. The Finance Ministry attributed the early release to state finances and capital and developmental expenditure. केंद्र सरकारने 1 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी राज्य सरकारांना ₹1,09,019 कोटी रुपयांचा अतिरिक्त कर वाटा (tax devolution) वितरित केला. 10 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी देय असलेल्या नियमित मासिक कर वाटपापूर्वीच हे हस्तांतरण करण्यात आले. राज्यांची आर्थिक स्थिती तसेच भांडवली आणि विकासविषयक खर्च लक्षात घेऊन हा निधी वेळेआधीच वितरित करण्यात आल्याचे वित्त मंत्रालयाने स्पष्ट केले. |
| 7. Lokmanya Tilak National Award 2026: The award was given to National Security Adviser Ajit Doval in Pune, Maharashtra on 1 August 2026. The award was presented by Lokmanya Tilak Smarak Trust on the 106th death anniversary of Lokmanya Bal Gangadhar Tilak. Union Home Minister Amit Shah gave away the award at the function. लोकमान्य टिळक राष्ट्रीय पुरस्कार 2026: हा पुरस्कार 1 ऑगस्ट 2026 रोजी पुण्यातील (महाराष्ट्र) एका कार्यक्रमात राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा सल्लागार अजित डोवाल यांना प्रदान करण्यात आला. लोकमान्य बाळ गंगाधर टिळक यांच्या 106 व्या पुण्यतिथीनिमित्त ‘लोकमान्य टिळक स्मारक ट्रस्ट’तर्फे हा पुरस्कार देण्यात आला. केंद्रीय गृहमंत्री अमित शाह यांच्या हस्ते हा पुरस्कार प्रदान करण्यात आला. |
| 8. The Republic of Naoero is the new official name of the Pacific island nation of Nauru. President David Adeang confirmed the change on 31 July 2026, after parliament passed a constitutional amendment in May 2026. ‘रिपब्लिक ऑफ नाओएरो’ (Republic of Naoero) हे पॅसिफिक महासागरातील ‘नाउरू’ (Nauru) या द्वीप-राष्ट्राचे नवीन अधिकृत नाव आहे. मे 2026मध्ये संसदेने घटनादुरुस्ती मंजूर केल्यानंतर, 31 जुलै 2026 रोजी राष्ट्राध्यक्ष डेव्हिड अडियांग यांनी या बदलाला दुजोरा दिला. |
