| 1. India recently put laws into place to encourage the construction of infrastructure on its national waterways. The National Waterways (Construction of Jetties/Terminals) Regulations are designed to make it easier for different organizations to create jetties and terminals. It is anticipated that these rules would increase logistical effectiveness throughout the nation’s vast canal network and draw in private investment.

| 2. Modifications to the General Anti-Avoidance Rules (GAAR) are proposed in the Income Tax Bill 2025. | 3. Interesting links between lightning and the Earth’s radiation belts have been found recently. Two separate Van Allen radiation belts surround our globe and contain high-energy particles, mostly protons and electrons. Since their first discovery in the 1950s, these belts have been the subject of scientific investigation. According to recent research, lightning-induced electromagnetic waves may cause electrons from the inner radiation belt to break into the atmosphere.

| 4. A concerning pattern of increasing flood dangers in High Mountain Asia has been brought to light by recent studies. The Tibetan Plateau and neighboring mountain ranges are part of this region, which is seeing a rise in the frequency and unpredictability of floods. Floods have increased since 2000, according to a research titled “Flood complexity and rising exposure risk in High Mountain Asia under climate change.” Nowadays, floods happen outside of the typical monsoon seasons. Ecosystems and local communities are at risk from this change.

| 7. The Advocates (Amendment) Bill draft was withdrawn by the Union Ministry of Law and Justice on February 23, 2025. Following widespread demonstrations in Delhi’s courts, bar groups unanimously decided against the bill, calling it “unjust and biased.”
