1. International Midwife Day is celebrated on the 5th of May every year, to appreciate the work of midwives.

3. Facebook has partnered with the government of India to launch a vaccine finder tool in its Indian mobile app that will help people identify nearby places that need to be vaccinated.

8. The labour ministry has implemented a decision of retirement fund body EPFO’s trustees to hike the maximum sum assured payable under the Employees’ Deposit Linked Insurance Scheme, 1976 to Rs 7 lakh from the existing Rs 6 lakh.

9. The researchers in the Geological Survey of India recently found fossil bone fragments of Sauropod dinosaurs. They were 100 million years old. These dinosaur bones were found in West Khasi hills in the district of Meghalaya.
भूगर्भीय सर्वेक्षण आनी भारतीय संशोधकांना अलीकडेच सौरोपॉड डायनासोरच्या जीवाश्म हाडांचे तुकडे आढळले. ते 100 दशलक्ष वर्षांचे होते. ही डायनासोरची हाडे मेघालय जिल्ह्यातील पश्चिम खासी डोंगरावर आढळली.

10. प्रख्यात तामिळ चित्रपट दिग्दर्शक आणि चित्रपटसृष्टीतील के. व्ही. आनंद यांचे निधन झाले आहे. ते 54 वर्षांचे होते.
K V Anand, noted Tamil film director and cinematographer died. He was 54.
