1. The Centre has released ₹ 8,873.6 crore to states as the first installment of the central share of the State Disaster Response Fund (SDRF) for 2021-22 for various COVID-19 containment measures.
केंद्राने 2021-22 या कालावधीत विविध कोविड-19 कंटेक्शन उपायांसाठी राज्य आपत्ती प्रतिसाद निधि (SDRF) च्या केंद्रीय वाटाचा पहिला हप्ता म्हणून 8,873.6 कोटी राज्यांना जाहीर केले आहेत.

2. The government exempted from customs duty imports of inflammatory diagnostic kits till October 31, a move aimed at increasing COVID-19 testing.

3. Insurance scheme for frontline health workers has been extended for another six months, the government said.

4. Vedanta Group firm Hindustan Zinc has set up an oxygen bottling plant at the Rajsamand district of Rajasthan which is producing 500 cylinders of life-saving gas per day.

5. The government permitted import of oxygen concentrators for personal use, through post, courier or e-commerce portals under gift category.

7. The scientists have found the oldest human burial in Africa. The site is 78,000 years old. The cave site was discovered near Kenyan coast.

8. The Governor of Reserve Bank of India Shaktikanta Das recently announced that the apex bank will make the second purchase of Government securities under the G-Sec Acquisition Programme 1.0 on May 20, 2021.

9. The Union Cabinet recently approved the Strategic Disinvestment and transfer of management control in IDBI bank.

10. The Ministry of Aviation (Government of India) recently allowed twenty entities to conduct Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BLVOS) flights of drones.
