1. The Maharashtra government has approved a sum of Rs 231 crore for disbursal to tribal families in the state under its ‘Khavti’ grant scheme.

2. India captain Virat Kohli’s foundation will set up two ‘animal shelters’ on the outskirts of Mumbai as a part of its animal welfare project.

3. India hosted the BRICS Finance Ministers’ Meeting. This is the first meeting of the BRICS countries under the auspices of India in 2021. As the chairman of the BRICS in 2021, India’s goal is to focus on cooperation within the BRICS based on continuity, consolidation and consensus.

4. Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan approved the ‘National Policy for Rare Diseases 2021’ which aims to lower the high cost of treatment for rare diseases, with increased focus on indigenous research and local production of medicines.
