| 1. The Indian Railways successfully tested a train that runs on hydrogen and was made at the Integral Coach Factory in Chennai. This train will shortly run between Sonipat and Jind in Haryana. The National Green Hydrogen Mission wants to generate five million metric tons of green hydrogen every year by 2030. The mission helps India reach its aim of having no emissions by 2070. | 2. The Integrated Heat and Cooling Action Plan (IHCAP) was originally launched in Bhubaneswar, India. The strategy deals with more heat stress and a lot more demand for air conditioning. For decades, India’s heatwaves have gotten harsher. These have an impact on health, productivity, and energy usage. | 4. Recent studies have found that the protein p47 has a secret job: it protects other proteins from mechanical stress within cells. This finding might lead to new ways to treat disorders that make proteins less stable when they are under stress. Researchers at the S. N. Bose National Centre for Basic Sciences (SNBNCBS) showed that p47 works as a mechanical chaperone, keeping proteins stable while they are under stress. This goes against what people used to think, which was that p47 was just an extra assist for the cellular machine p97. | 5. The discovery of the orchid species Gastrochilus pechei in Arunachal Pradesh has contributed to India’s already large collection of orchids. This discovery proves the connection between the two areas’ plants, which were only known to be in Myanmar before. The find was found in Vijoynagar, an isolated location near Myanmar at a height of 1,200 meters.
