1. World Biofuel Day is observed every year on the 10th of August to create awareness about the importance of non-fossil fuels as an alternative to conventional fossil fuels.
पारंपारिक जीवाश्म इंधनाला पर्याय म्हणून जीवाश्म नसलेल्या इंधनांच्या महत्त्वविषयी जागरूकता निर्माण करण्यासाठी जागतिक जैवइंधन दिन दरवर्षी 10 ऑगस्ट रोजी साजरा केला जातो.

2. Union Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar launched a website ‘unccdcop14india.gov.in, which contains all the information related to COP14.
केंद्रीय पर्यावरण मंत्री प्रकाश जावडेकर यांनी एक वेबसाइट ‘unccdcop14india.gov.in’ लॉंच केली, ज्यात सीओपी 14 शी संबंधित सर्व माहिती आहे.

3. SBI Life Insurance and Indian Bank have entered into a bank assurance pact to offer holistic financial planning solutions to the latter’s customers.

4. ‘Gully Boy’ and ‘AndhaDhun’ managed to bag top honours at The Indian Film Festival of Melbourne. ‘Gully Boy’ was awarded best film at Indian Film Festival of Melbourne and Tabu was awarded best actress in ‘Andhadhun.’

5. Researchers from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras and National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) are developing turbines that can harness the power of ocean waves to generate electricity.
इंडियन इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ टेक्नॉलॉजी (आयआयटी) मद्रास आणि नॅशनल इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ ओशन टेक्नॉलॉजी (एनआयओटी) चे संशोधक टर्बाइन विकसित करीत आहेत ज्यामुळे वीज निर्माण करण्यासाठी समुद्राच्या लाटेच्या सामर्थ्याला सामर्थ्य मिळू शकते.

6. The Ministry of Defence got its approval from Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) for the procurement of a Software Defined Radio (SDR) and the Next Generation Maritime Mobile Coastal Batteries (NGMMCB) for the Indian Navy.

7. The Former President of India Pranab Mukherjee was awarded the Bharat Ratna, the highest civilian award in India, at Rashtrapati Bhawan.
भारताचे माजी राष्ट्रपती प्रणव मुखर्जी यांना राष्ट्रपती भवनात भारतरत्न हा भारताचा सर्वोच्च नागरी पुरस्कार देण्यात आला.

8. The Cochin Shipyard has launched two ro-pax (roll-on roll-off passenger) vessels on 8 August. The ro-pax was designed and built by the Cochin Shipyard for the Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI).
कोचीन शिपयार्डने 8 ऑगस्ट रोजी दोन आरओ-पॅक्स (रोल-ऑन रोल-ऑफ पॅसेंजर) जहाज दाखल केले आहेत. को-शिपयार्डने इनलँड वॉटरवेज अथॉरिटी ऑफ इंडिया (आयडब्ल्यूएआय) साठी आरओ-पॅक्स डिझाइन केले आणि तयार केले होते.

9. The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet, Government of India extended the tenure of State Bank of India(SBI) Managing Director (MD)Dinesh Kumar Khara by another 2 years with effect from August 9, 2019.

10. Sports Secretary Radheshyam Jhulaniya said that the Indian cricket board has agreed to come under the ambit of the National Anti-Doping Agency (NADA).
क्रीडा सचिव राधेश्याम झुलानिया म्हणाले की, भारतीय क्रिकेट नियामक मंडळाने राष्ट्रीय अँटी-डोपिंग एजन्सी (नाडा) अंतर्गत येण्यास सहमती दर्शविली आहे.
