| 1. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has given in-principle approval on 9 July, 2026 for setting up a 1.75 million metric tonnes Strategic Petroleum Reserve at Mangaluru in Karnataka. ऑइल अँड नॅचरल गॅस कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड (ONGC) ने 9 जुलै 2026 रोजी कर्नाटकच्या मंगळुरू येथे 1.75 दशलक्ष मेट्रिक टन क्षमतेचा ‘स्ट्रॅटेजिक पेट्रोलियम रिझर्व्ह’ (धोरणात्मक पेट्रोलियम साठा) उभारण्यास तत्त्वतः मंजुरी दिली आहे. हा प्रकल्प पहिल्या टप्प्यातील (Phase-I) विस्तार असून, तो ‘इंडियन स्ट्रॅटेजिक पेट्रोलियम रिझर्व्ह्ज लिमिटेड’ (ISPRL) द्वारे चालवल्या जाणाऱ्या भारताच्या धोरणात्मक कच्च्या तेलाच्या साठवणूक जाळ्याचा एक भाग आहे. |
| 2. India has extended the anti-dumping duty on seamless tubes, pipes and hollow profiles of iron, alloy or non-alloy steel imported from China for a period of five years till January 27, 2027. The measure applies to products of tariff heading 7304 with an external diameter not exceeding 355.6 mm.
भारताने चीनमधून आयात केल्या जाणाऱ्या लोखंड, मिश्रधातू (alloy) किंवा साध्या पोलादापासून (non-alloy steel) बनवलेल्या ‘सीमलेस’ (सांधेविरहित) नळ्या, पाईप्स आणि पोकळ आकारमानांच्या (hollow profiles) वस्तूंवरील अँटी-डंपिंग शुल्क 27 जानेवारी 2027 पर्यंत, म्हणजेच पाच वर्षांच्या कालावधीसाठी वाढवले आहे. हा निर्णय ‘टॅरिफ हेडिंग 7304’ अंतर्गत येणाऱ्या आणि 355.6 मिमीपेक्षा जास्त बाह्य व्यास नसलेल्या उत्पादनांना लागू होतो. |
| 3. On 9 and 10 July 2026, the World Bank Board of Executive Directors approved a financing package of $890 million for India’s national rooftop solar programme. The package supports PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana, a scheme for residential rooftop solar for rural and urban households in India.

| 4. Tamil Nadu’s Gross Enrollment Ratio (GER) in higher education for the academic year 2023-24 stood at 52.3%. This figure was released by the Union government in the latest All India Survey on Higher Education (AISHE) report for 2023-24. Higher Education GER: GER of India stood at 27.1% in 2020-21, the state ranked first among Indian states.
शैक्षणिक वर्ष 2023-24 साठी तामिळनाडूचे उच्च शिक्षणातील ‘एकूण नोंदणी प्रमाण’ (GER) 52.3% इतके होते. केंद्र सरकारने 2023-24 या वर्षासाठीच्या ‘उच्च शिक्षणावरील अखिल भारतीय सर्वेक्षण’ (AISHE) अहवालात ही आकडेवारी जाहीर केली. उच्च शिक्षणातील GER: 2020-21 मध्ये भारताचे GER 27.1% होते आणि भारतीय राज्यांमध्ये तामिळनाडूने प्रथम क्रमांक पटकावला होता. |
| 5. On 6 July 2026, the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) conducted flight acceptance hot test of the CE20 cryogenic engine at the ISRO Propulsion Complex in Mahendragiri, Tamil Nadu. The engine is for LVM3’s seventh operational mission, LVM3-M7, for the upper stage of the launch vehicle.
6 जुलै 2026 रोजी, भारतीय अंतराळ संशोधन संस्थेने (इस्रो) तामिळनाडूतील महेंद्रगिरी येथील ‘इस्रो प्रोपल्शन कॉम्प्लेक्स’मध्ये CE20 क्रायोजेनिक इंजिनची ‘फ्लाईट ॲक्सेप्टन्स हॉट टेस्ट’ (उड्डाणापूर्वीची कार्यक्षमता चाचणी) यशस्वीरित्या पार पाडली. हे इंजिन LVM3 या प्रक्षेपण वाहनाच्या सातव्या कार्यान्वित मोहिमेसाठी (LVM3-M7) त्याच्या वरच्या टप्प्यासाठी (upper stage) वापरले जाणार आहे. |
| 6. On 9 July 2026, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) released three household surveys for the formulation of monetary policy. The surveys are July 2026 round of Inflation Expectations Survey of Households, Rural Consumer Confidence Survey and Urban Consumer Confidence Survey.
9 जुलै 2026 रोजी, भारतीय रिझर्व्ह बँकेने (RBI) चलनविषयक धोरण निश्चितीसाठी तीन कौटुंबिक सर्वेक्षणे जाहीर केली. या सर्वेक्षणांमध्ये ‘कुटुंबांच्या महागाईविषयक अपेक्षांचे सर्वेक्षण’ (Inflation Expectations Survey of Households) – जुलै 2026 फेरी, ‘ग्रामीण ग्राहक विश्वास सर्वेक्षण’ आणि ‘शहरी ग्राहक विश्वास सर्वेक्षण’ यांचा समावेश आहे. |
| 7. India has launched pilot trials for transportation of hydrogen fuel on 10 routes under the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways. The projects were approved on 26 March 2025 under the National Green Hydrogen Mission and include 37 hydrogen-powered buses and trucks, 15 fuel cell powered and 22 hydrogen internal combustion engine powered.
रस्ते वाहतूक आणि महामार्ग मंत्रालयांतर्गत, हायड्रोजन इंधनाच्या वाहतुकीसाठी भारताने 10 मार्गांवर प्रायोगिक चाचण्या सुरू केल्या आहेत. ‘राष्ट्रीय हरित हायड्रोजन मिशन’ (National Green Hydrogen Mission) अंतर्गत 26 मार्च 2025 रोजी या प्रकल्पांना मंजुरी देण्यात आली होती; यामध्ये हायड्रोजनवर चालणाऱ्या 37 बसेस आणि ट्रक्सचा समावेश असून, त्यापैकी 15 वाहने ‘फ्यूल सेल’वर आणि 22 वाहने हायड्रोजन ‘इंटर्नल कंबशन इंजिन’वर (अंतर्गत ज्वलन इंजिन) चालणारी आहेत. |
| 8. The Indian Council of Medical Research is establishing the country’s first high-altitude medicine and public health research centre in Himachal Pradesh. The ICMR Centre for High Altitude Medicine and Public Health Research will be set up at Keylong in the Lahaul and Spiti district and will convert the existing ICMR field station into a multidisciplinary research hub.
भारतीय वैद्यकीय संशोधन परिषद (ICMR) हिमाचल प्रदेशात देशातील पहिले ‘उच्च-उंचीवरील वैद्यकशास्त्र आणि सार्वजनिक आरोग्य संशोधन केंद्र’ स्थापन करत आहे. लाहौल आणि स्पिती जिल्ह्यातील ‘केलांग’ (Keylong) येथे हे केंद्र उभारले जाईल आणि याद्वारे ICMR च्या विद्यमान क्षेत्रीय केंद्राचे (field station) बहु-विद्याशाखीय संशोधन केंद्रामध्ये रूपांतर केले जाईल. |
