1. India inaugurated UPI payment services in Sri Lanka and Mauritius during a virtual event attended by Prime Minister Modi and the presidents of the two countries. The move makes UPI settlement services available to Indian nationals going to these nations, as well as Mauritian nationals visiting India.

2. On February 12, 2024, the Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species of Wild Animals (CMS), a UN biodiversity treaty, released the report “State of the World’s Migratory Species – 2024”.It presents the first complete global evaluation of the conservation status and threats to migratory species. The analysis discovers that, while some species are improving, over half of CMS-listed migratory species are dropping, with more than one-fifth threatened with extinction.

3. The US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) has outlawed AI-generated robocalls in response to an increase in voice cloning frauds affecting thousands of Americans. Artificial intelligence can now generate convincing false audio and video, making it easier to defraud people. The FCC intends to prevent fraudsters from utilising AI voice cloning in unlawful robocalls to extort money or propagate falsehoods.
यूएस फेडरल कम्युनिकेशन्स कमिशनने (FCC) हजारो अमेरिकन लोकांना प्रभावित करणाऱ्या व्हॉईस क्लोनिंग फसवणुकीच्या वाढीला प्रतिसाद म्हणून AI-व्युत्पन्न रोबोकॉल बेकायदेशीर ठरवले आहेत. कृत्रिम बुद्धिमत्ता आता लोकांना पटवून देणारे खोटे ऑडिओ आणि व्हिडिओ तयार करू शकते, ज्यामुळे लोकांची फसवणूक करणे सोपे होईल. 4. Parliament recently passed two legislation aimed at modifying the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) lists in Andhra Pradesh and Odisha. The measures were approved by voice vote in the Lok Sabha.
