1. Lt. Gen. Upendra Dwivedi was recently appointed by the Ministry of Defence as the next Chief of the Army Staff. On June 30, 2024, Gen. Manoj Pande will succeed him. An additional month was granted to General Pande to depart prior to his scheduled departure date.
लेफ्टनंट जनरल उपेंद्र द्विवेदी यांची नुकतीच संरक्षण मंत्रालयाने पुढील लष्करप्रमुख म्हणून नियुक्ती केली. 30 जून 2024 रोजी जनरल मनोज पांडे त्यांची जागा घेतील. जनरल पांडे यांना त्यांच्या नियोजित निर्गमन तारखेपूर्वी जाण्यासाठी अतिरिक्त महिना देण्यात आला होता.

2. In a recent collaboration, the Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT-M) and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) investigated the behaviour of microorganisms that are highly resistant to multiple medications on the International Space Station (ISS). Enterobacter bugandensis, which is notorious for its difficulty in eliminating hospital maladies, is the primary focus of their research. They are currently investigating the extent to which it has evolved to survive in space.

3. Along with Mundra Port, Visakhapatnam Port has moved up to 19th place in the prestigious CPPI 2023 list of container ports. It is made by the World Bank and S&P Global Market Intelligence together. The main thing it looks at to rate the efficiency of container ports around the world is how long ships stay in port. It is a key measure in the marine business because it shows how busy and well-run ports are.

4. Apple showed off Apple Intelligence, its cutting edge AI technology, at the 2024 Worldwide Developers Conference on June 11. Like the iPhone, iPad, and Mac, this AI tool works with all of them. Its goal is to make the experience of users better by showing them information that is relevant to them and private.

5. Eleven people were recently fined by the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) for running a “pump and dump” scam. A pump-and-dump plan is a type of market manipulation in which the price of a stock is boosted by false and misleading information, and then the stock is sold at the inflated price, leaving buyers with big losses.
सिक्युरिटीज अँड एक्स्चेंज बोर्ड ऑफ इंडियाने (सेबी) “पंप आणि डंप” घोटाळा चालवल्याबद्दल अकरा जणांना नुकताच दंड ठोठावला. पंप-अँड-डंप योजना हा एक प्रकारचा बाजारातील फेरफार आहे ज्यामध्ये स्टॉकची किंमत खोटी आणि दिशाभूल करणारी माहिती देऊन वाढवली जाते आणि नंतर स्टॉक फुगलेल्या किमतीत विकला जातो, ज्यामुळे खरेदीदारांचे मोठे नुकसान होते.

6. The gem and jewellery industry was recently given Authorised Economic Operator (AEO) status by the Ministry of Finance. This makes it easier to sell and import goods by cutting down on the time it takes to release cargo and the amount of money that banks have to secure transactions.
रत्न आणि आभूषण उद्योगाला अलीकडेच अर्थ मंत्रालयाने अधिकृत आर्थिक ऑपरेटर (AEO) दर्जा दिला आहे. यामुळे माल सोडण्यासाठी लागणारा वेळ आणि बँकांना व्यवहार सुरक्षित करण्यासाठी लागणारी रक्कम कमी करून वस्तूंची विक्री आणि आयात करणे सोपे होते.

7. The Prime Minister recently gave the go-ahead for three crore houses to be built under PMAY. Two crore will be built under PMAY-Gramin and one crore will be built under PMAY-Urban. The government said that more homes will be built than were planned under PMAY-G and PMAY-U by December 2024. This is in addition to the original goal of March 2022.
पंतप्रधानांनी अलीकडेच PMAY अंतर्गत तीन कोटी घरे बांधण्यासाठी मंजुरी दिली. PMAY-ग्रामीण अंतर्गत दोन कोटी आणि PMAY-शहरी अंतर्गत एक कोटी बांधले जातील. डिसेंबर 2024 पर्यंत PMAY-G आणि PMAY-U अंतर्गत नियोजित केलेल्यापेक्षा जास्त घरे बांधली जातील असे सरकारने म्हटले आहे. हे मार्च 2022 च्या मूळ उद्दिष्टाव्यतिरिक्त आहे.
