1. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) is to impose heavy penalties on banks, and stipulate higher provisioning for stressed loans. RBI announced it earlier on 7 June 2019. For the first time, RBI has said that the chief executive officers (CEOs) and senior management of banks can also be held liable for lack of progress.
रिझर्व्ह बँक (आरबीआय) बँकांवर भारी दंड आकारणार आहे आणि तणावग्रस्त कर्जासाठी जास्त तरतूद करेल. आरबीआयने 7 जून 2019 रोजी याची घोषणा केली होती. पहिल्यांदाच आरबीआयने म्हटले आहे की प्रगतीअभावी मुख्य कार्यकारी अधिकारी (सीईओ) आणि बँकांचे वरिष्ठ व्यवस्थापन देखील जबाबदार असू शकतात.

2. The sixth meeting of the Island Development Agency (IDA) held on 13 January in New Delhi. The meeting was chaired by the Union Home Minister, Shri Amit Shah. The agency reviewed the progress made towards the Holistic development of islands programme.
आयलँड डेव्हलपमेंट एजन्सी (आयडीए) ची सहावी बैठक 13 जानेवारी रोजी नवी दिल्ली येथे झाली. केंद्रीय गृहमंत्री श्री अमित शहा यांच्या अध्यक्षतेखाली ही बैठक झाली. एजन्सीने बेटांच्या समग्र विकासासाठी केलेल्या प्रगतीचा आढावा घेतला.

3. Indian Railways has signed MoU with RailTel, a Mini Ratna PSU under Ministry of Railways, for the phase 2 of the National Informatics Centre (NIC) e-office project.
नॅशनल इनफॉर्मेटिक्स सेंटर (एनआयसी) ई-ऑफिस प्रकल्पाच्या दुसर्‍या टप्प्यासाठी भारतीय रेल्वेने रेल्वे मंत्रालयांतर्गत मिनी रत्न पीएसयू रेलटेलबरोबर सामंजस्य करार केला आहे.

4. The RBI amended the KYC norms allowing banks and other lending institutions regulated by it to use Video based Customer Identification Process (V-CIP), a move which will help them onboard customers remotely.
रिझर्व्ह बॅंकेने केवायसी निकषांमध्ये सुधारणा केली असून बँका आणि अन्य कर्ज देणा institutions्या संस्थांना व्हिडिओ आधारित ग्राहक ओळख प्रक्रिया (V-CIP) वापरण्यास परवानगी देणारी ही सुविधा आहे, जे यामुळे ग्राहकांना दूरस्थपणे मदत करेल.

5. Yes Bank’s independent director Uttam Prakash Agarwal has resigned citing “serious concerns” on “deteriorating practices” and the state of affairs at the private sector lender.
येस बँकेचे स्वतंत्र संचालक उत्तम प्रकाश अग्रवाल यांनी “खालावत चाललेल्या प्रथा” आणि खासगी क्षेत्राच्या सावकाराच्या कामकाजाची स्थिती यावर “गंभीर चिंता” असल्याचे सांगून राजीनामा दिला आहे.

6. Local sources of pollution such as traffic, construction, and domestic heating contribute significantly to the Delhi National Capital Region’s high concentrations of harmful air pollutants. The study was conducted by researchers from the University of Surrey in the UK.

7. Country’s largest public sector bank, State Bank of India has announced a ‘residential builder finance with buyer guarantee’ (RBBG) scheme. It aims at giving a push to residential sales and improve homebuyers’ confidence.
देशातील सर्वात मोठी सार्वजनिक क्षेत्रातील बँक, स्टेट बँक ऑफ इंडियाने ‘खरेदीदार हमीसह निवासी बिल्डर वित्त’ (आरबीबीजी) योजना जाहीर केली आहे. निवासी विक्रीस उत्तेजन देणे आणि घरमालकाचा आत्मविश्वास वाढविणे हे त्याचे उद्दीष्ट आहे.

8. The 4th Armed Forces Veterans Day is observed on 14 January every year. The day is observed as a mark of respect and recognition of the services rendered by Filed Marshal KM Cariappa OBE.

9. The Special National Vendor Development Program (NVDP) on Petroleum and Steel sectors for SC/ST Entrepreneurs was held on 13 January 2020.
एससी / एसटी उद्योजकांसाठी पेट्रोलियम आणि स्टील क्षेत्रावरील विशेष राष्ट्रीय विक्रेता विकास कार्यक्रम (NVDP) 13 जानेवारी 2020 रोजी आयोजित करण्यात आला होता.

10. The Indian Institute of Food Processing Technology (IIFPT), Bathinda signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with 8 different reputed institutes of the region in the states of Punjab and Haryana.
इंडियन इन्स्टिट्यूट ऑफ फूड प्रोसेसिंग टेक्नॉलॉजी (आयआयएफपीटी), बठिंडा यांनी पंजाब आणि हरियाणा राज्यातील या प्रदेशातील 8 वेगवेगळ्या नामांकित संस्थांशी सामंजस्य करार (MoU) वर स्वाक्षरी केली.
