1. With the Chinese H-alpha Solar Explorer (CHASE) camera, Chinese scientists have found a new way for the sun’s atmosphere to spin. The prestigious journal Nature Astronomy says that this new finding is the first true three-dimensional picture of how the atmosphere of the sun spins.

2. Nagastra-1 is a new type of suicide drone that can be carried by a person and can do exact damage. The Indian Army just got its first batch of them. Because these drones can precisely aim at enemy camps, soldiers are less likely to get hurt.

5. The energy monitor from NITI Aayog recently showed that India’s coal-fired heating capacity rose from 205 GW in FY20 to 218 GW in FY24, which is a 6% increase. An up-to-date report says that in 2014, the company sold low-quality Indonesian coal to a Tamil Nadu public power production business by saying it was high-quality coal.

6. In its most recent twice-monthly review of monetary policy, the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) decided to leave the repo rate alone for the eighth time in a row. This came after talks about aiming for low inflation and boosting economic growth.

7. The World Bank’s latest report, Global Economic Prospects Report, says that India will continue to have the world’s fastest-growing major economy, with a GDP growth rate of 6.6% for FY25.

8. This past week, a terrible fire broke out in an apartment block near Kuwait City, killing at least 49 people. About 40 of the victims were Indian.The apartment block was home to more than 195 workers, most of whom were Indian citizens from Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and other northern Indian states.
