2. In Madhya Pradesh, the Chief Minister Kamal Nath inaugurated the 7-Day International Film Festival in Shilpkala village of Khajuraho.

3. Lieutenant General Manoj Mukund Naravane has been appointed as the next Chief of Army Staff (CAS). He will be leading the 1.3 million-strong force. Naravane is currently serving as Vice Chief of the Army.

6. The former Union minister and veteran BJP leader Ishwar Dayal Swami passed away on 15 December. He was 90.
