| 1. The Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS) is still getting more popular in 2025. Smt. Nirmala Sitharaman, the Union Minister of Finance and Corporate Affairs, recently interacted with more than 60 interns in Hampi, Karnataka. These interns come from a wide range of backgrounds and work for some of the best companies in India. The conversation made it clear how the plan helps young people gain skills and feel powerful. | 2. Recent satellite data shows that the Taftan volcano in southern Iran, which was assumed to be dead, is starting to show signs of life again. The land near its top increased by 9 cm between July 2023 and May 2024. This rise means that the pressure of gas underground has gone raised. Scientists now say that Taftan is dormant instead than extinct. | 3. The fifth Khelo India University Games (KIUG) will be held in Rajasthan from November 24 to December 5, 2025. Jaipur, Ajmer, Udaipur, Jodhpur, Bikaner, Kota, and Bharatpur will all host the event. More than 5,000 athletes will compete in 23 medal sports and one showcase event, kho-kho. | 4. The New York State Department of Health just verified that the US has its first case of chikungunya virus that was acquired domestically since 2019. This case happened in Nassau County, which is on Long Island. It is the first case of local transmission in New York. It is likely that the person who got sick got the illness from a mosquito bite. It is still not clear where the infection came from. | 5. The blackbuck, which had been extinct in Chhattisgarh for about 50 years, has been successfully brought back. The Barnawapara Wildlife Sanctuary has seen an amazing return of this endangered antelope since 2018. | 6. The State Mining Readiness Index (SMRI) was made public by the Ministry of Mines in 2025. This index assesses Indian states based on how well they can support mining reforms and environmentally friendly practices. The Union Budget 2025–26 announced it as a major move to make the mining industry better. The SMRI rates states based on how well they do at auctions, how quickly they open new mines, how much they explore, and how well they mine non-coal minerals in a way that is good for the environment. | 7. The Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has taken initiatives to improve support for farmers and their well-being in 2025. The state government chose to buy millets like Kodo and Kutki directly from farmers in the districts where they are grown the most. The goal of this endeavour is to improve millet farming and give farmers a better way to make money. Plans for soybean farmers and small and medium-sized businesses (MSMEs) have also been authorized. The government has increased the Dearness Relief for pensioners and added more youth coaching programs. | 8. In 2025, the Indian government started two important farming programs. These are the Self-Reliance in Pulses Mission and the Pradhan Mantri Dhan-Dhaanya Krishi Yojana. Both want to improve the wellbeing of farmers and the production of agriculture.
