1. ‘World Population Prospects 2019’ report, India’s population reached 1.36 billion (136 crore) in mid 2019, which makes it the second most populous country in the world.
‘जागतिक लोकसंख्या संभावना 2019.’ च्या अहवालानुसार 2019 च्या मध्यापर्यंत भारताची लोकसंख्या 1.36 अब्ज (136 कोटी) पर्यंत पोचली आहे, जी जगातील दुसऱ्या क्रमांकाची लोकसंख्या असलेला देश ठरला आहे.

2. The Defence Ministry has signed a capital acquisition contract with Israel Weapons Industries, IWI for procurement of 16,479 light machine guns, LMGs at a cost of 880 crore rupees.
संरक्षण मंत्रालयाने इजरायल वेपन्स इंडस्ट्रीज, IWI बरोबर 880 कोटी रुपये खर्च करून 16,479 लाइट मशीन गन, एलएमजी खरेदी करण्यासाठी भांडवल संपादन करारावर स्वाक्षऱ्या केल्या आहेत.

4. Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has launched a toll-free helpline on coronavirus safeguards for students. The facility is available on helpline number 1800118004 from 8 am to 8 pm, initially up to 31st March.
केंद्रीय माध्यमिक शिक्षण मंडळाने (CBSE) विद्यार्थ्यांसाठी कोरोनाव्हायरस सेफगार्ड्सवर टोल-फ्री हेल्पलाइन सुरू केली आहे. सुरुवातीला 31 मार्चपर्यंत सकाळी 8 ते रात्री 8 या वेळेत ही सुविधा 1800118004 या हेल्पलाईन क्रमांकावर उपलब्ध आहे.

5. United Nations celebrates International Day of Forest on March 21. The Day is celebrated since 2012.
संयुक्त राष्ट्रांनी 21 मार्च रोजी आंतरराष्ट्रीय वन दिन साजरा केला. हा दिवस 2012 पासून साजरा केला जातो.

6. COVID-19 cases rose to 236 in India after 63 new cases were reported in a day. The government in the national capital and Maharashtra announced the shutdown of public places to contain the spread of coronavirus that has claimed more than 10,000 lives globally.
एका दिवसात 63 नवीन घटना घडल्यानंतर कोविड 19 प्रकरणे भारतात वाढून 236 झाली आहेत. राष्ट्रीय राजधानी आणि महाराष्ट्रातील सरकारने कोरोनाव्हायरसचा प्रसार करण्यासाठी सार्वजनिक स्थाने बंद ठेवण्याची घोषणा केली ज्याने जगभरात 10000 हून अधिक लोकांचा बळी घेतला आहे.

7. Reserve Bank of India (RBI) put in place a contingency plan to ensure that crucial information technology (IT) services for the delivery of digital banking, treasury services.

8. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh released the Draft Defence Procurement Procedure(DPP), 2020 at a function in New Delhi. The policy is aligned with the vision of the government to empower the private industry through the Make in India initiative with the ultimate of turning India into a global manufacturing hub.
संरक्षणमंत्री राजनाथ सिंह यांनी नवी दिल्लीतील एका कार्यक्रमात प्रारूप संरक्षण प्रॉक्रेक्शन प्रक्रिया (DPP) 2020 जाहीर केले. मेक इन इंडिया पुढाकाराने खासगी उद्योगांना सबलीकरण करण्याच्या सरकारच्या दृष्टीकोनातून हे धोरण संरेखित केले गेले आहे आणि त्यातून भारताला जागतिक उत्पादन केंद्रात रुपांतर करता येईल.

10. Legendary Indian footballer P K Banerjee died in Kolkata after battling prolonged illness. He was 83.
