Recent revisions have been made to the Bacterial Priority Pathogens List (BPPL) by the World Health Organisation (WHO). This is a crucial measure that demonstrates their commitment to resolving the issue. The primary objective of the revision is to prioritise bacteria that pose the greatest risks and assist researchers in developing effective novel antibiotics.

4. Indian commercial pilot Gopi Thotakura created history by being the first Indian to travel into space recreationally. It happened on a spacecraft operated by Blue Origin on May 19. Ten minutes from start to finish, the trip sent participants to a height of around 105 km above Earth, passing the Karman line—the boundary between Earth’s atmosphere and space.

The International Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers and Associations (IFPMA) published a new research titled “From Resistance to Resilience: Reinforcing the Response to Antimicrobial Resistance.” Released in association with Airfinity, this paper projects into 2033 to examine potential changes in the antibiotic development pipeline. It underlines the need of development as antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is getting worse. According to the World Health Organisation, this resistance is a serious concern to world health and is associated with around 1.2 million direct and 5 million annual fatalities worldwide.

6. The Indian Navy’s ships INS Delhi, INS Shakti, and INS Kiltan just arrived in Manila. On a significant visit, they are fortifying marine relations between the Philippines and India. The Philippines Navy officially welcomed the fleet ships from the Eastern Fleet when they arrived.
