| 1. The West Bengal government on 21 May 2026 made it mandatory for all recognised madrasas in the state to sing Vande Mataram during morning assemblies before the start of classes. पश्चिम बंगाल सरकारने 21 मे 2026 रोजी राज्यातील सर्व मान्यताप्राप्त मदरशांमध्ये, वर्ग सुरू होण्यापूर्वीच्या सकाळच्या संमेलनादरम्यान ‘वंदे मातरम’ गाणे अनिवार्य केले. हा निर्देश सरकारी आदर्श मदरसे, सरकारी अनुदानित मदरसे आणि मदरसा संचालनालयाच्या अखत्यारीतील विनाअनुदानित मदरशांना लागू होतो. |
| 2. RAINMUMBAI, India’s first SEBI approved exchange traded weather derivatives contract was announced by the National Commodities and Derivatives Exchange (NCDEX) on 20 May 2026. | 5. India abstained on a United Nations General Assembly resolution on climate change obligations on 20 May 2026. | 6. On 20 May 2026, Bihar approved a proposal to launch direct international flights between Gaya and Bangkok. The Bihar cabinet, led by Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary, gave its nod to the route for operation by InterGlobe Aviation Limited, which runs IndiGo Airlines. Prime Minister Narendra Modi laid the foundation stone of the greenfield project virtually on 13 March 2024. | 8. India highlighted Pakistan’s record of alleged genocidal acts at the United Nations Security Council Open Debate on Protection of civilians in armed conflict, 21 May 2026.
