| 1. The signing of a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA) has brought India and Oman into a new phase of economic cooperation. The agreement’s goal is to boost trade, investment, and service cooperation between the two countries, as well as to strengthen their long-standing strategic ties. | 2. December 22 is National Mathematics Day in India. It honors the birth of the famous mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. The day honors his amazing contributions to math and shows how important math is outside of school. The exoplanet PSR J2322-2650b is about 2,000 light-years from Earth and has a shape that looks like a lemon. | 4. In response to rising human-wildlife conflict and shrinking freshwater habitats, Tamil Nadu has started a focused conservation effort to protect the smooth-coated otter in the Cauvery Delta. | 6. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has laid the first stone for a ₹10,601-crore ammonia-urea fertilizer plant in Dibrugarh district, Assam. This is a big step forward for industry in the northeast. The newly formed Assam Valley Fertiliser and Chemical Company Ltd (AVFCCL) is in charge of the project.
