| 1. The India–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement, which just went into effect, protects India’s dairy industry at home while also allowing some investment that is focused on exports. Piyush Goyal, the Minister of Commerce and Industry, made it clear that the agreement does not allow dairy imports to enter the market. | 6. Oman has released its first polymer one-rial banknote. This is a big change in the design and security standards of the country’s currency. The Central Bank of Oman will issue the new note, which will be legal tender starting January 11, 2026.
