1. World Tuberculosis Day is annually commemorated on March 24th to promote awareness of the worldwide tuberculosis (TB) epidemic and the endeavours undertaken to eradicate it. It grants acknowledgment to healthcare workers, researchers, policymakers, and activists involved in the battle against tuberculosis.

2. Tata Cummins Private Limited (TCPL), a collaboration between Tata Motors Limited and Cummins Inc. USA, has just opened a new facility in Jamshedpur, Jharkhand. The purpose of this plant is to manufacture internal combustion engines (ICEs) for medium and large commercial vehicles, utilising hydrogen as the primary fuel source.

3. Prime Minister Narendra Modi started a two-day official visit to Bhutan on Friday, in the middle of Bhutan and China’s endeavours to settle their territorial disagreement and Beijing’s aspirations to establish diplomatic relations with the Himalayan country. During the visit, India announced its intention to increase its aid for Bhutan’s 13th five-year plan from Rs 5000 crore to Rs 10000 crore.

4. Australia, the United Kingdom, and the United States have established a trilateral security collaboration named AUKUS with the purpose of constructing nuclear-powered submarines for the Royal Australian Navy. The SSN-AUKUS programme represents a noteworthy achievement in the defence collaboration among the three nations.

5. Simon Harris, an Irish politician, is now the frontrunner to assume the position of Ireland’s next Prime Minister (Taoiseach) after the unexpected departure of Leo Varadkar. Harris, aged 37, presently holds the position of Minister for Further and Higher Education and has been affiliated with the Fine Gael party from his early years.

6. India has submitted a comprehensive concept on behalf of the G4 nations for United Nations Security Council Reform during its participation in the Intergovernmental Negotiations on Security Council Reform.
The concept incorporates newly elected permanent members chosen via a democratic process by the UN General Assembly and demonstrates adaptability regarding the matter of veto power.
The G4, consisting of Brazil, Germany, India, and Japan, was established in 2004 with the objective of advocating for reform in the Security Council.
भारताने सुरक्षा परिषद सुधारणांवरील आंतर-सरकारी वाटाघाटींमध्ये सहभागादरम्यान संयुक्त राष्ट्र सुरक्षा परिषद सुधारणांसाठी G4 राष्ट्रांच्या वतीने एक सर्वसमावेशक संकल्पना सादर केली आहे.

7. According to the Global Methane Tracker 2024 by the International Energy Agency, methane emissions from fuel consumption in 2023 reached almost their highest level ever recorded, showing a modest rise compared to 2022.
इंटरनॅशनल एनर्जी एजन्सीच्या ग्लोबल मिथेन ट्रॅकर 2024 नुसार, 2023 मध्ये इंधनाच्या वापरातून मिथेन उत्सर्जनाने आतापर्यंतची नोंद केलेली जवळपास सर्वोच्च पातळी गाठली आहे, जी 2022 च्या तुलनेत माफक प्रमाणात वाढ दर्शवते.

8. State governments have recently raised a record amount of Rs 50,206 crore by auctioning State Development Loan (SDL) Bonds. This is the highest weekly borrowing of its kind. According to statistics from the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), the amount of money generated was much higher than the planned borrowing amount of Rs 27,810 crore. This signifies strong demand for state government securities in the financial markets.
राज्य सरकारांनी अलीकडेच राज्य विकास कर्ज (SDL) बाँडचा लिलाव करून 50,206 कोटी रुपयांची विक्रमी रक्कम उभारली आहे. या प्रकारातील हे सर्वाधिक साप्ताहिक कर्ज आहे.
