| 1. On 22 May 2026, Reserve Bank of India approved a dividend of ₹2,86,588.46 crore to the Central Government for the accounting year 2025-26. The amount is the highest ever surplus transfer of the Reserve Bank of India and is 6.7% more than the ₹2.69 lakh crore transferred in 2024-25. Advertisement
दिनांक 22 मे 2026 रोजी, भारतीय रिझर्व्ह बँकेने लेखा वर्ष 2025-26 करिता केंद्र सरकारला ₹2,86,588.46 कोटींच्या लाभांशाला मंजुरी दिली. ही रक्कम भारतीय रिझर्व्ह बँकेने हस्तांतरित केलेली आतापर्यंतची सर्वाधिक अतिरिक्त रक्कम (surplus) असून, ती 2024-25 मध्ये हस्तांतरित करण्यात आलेल्या ₹2.69 लाख कोटींच्या रकमेपेक्षा 6.7% अधिक आहे. |
| 2. Raghav Chadha, a Rajya Sabha member, was appointed chairman of the Committee on Petitions of the Upper House on 23 May 2026. The appointment took effect on 20 May 2026 after the committee was reconstituted by Rajya Sabha Chairman C.P. Radhakrishnan. राज्यसभा सदस्य राघव चढ्ढा यांची 23 मे 2026 रोजी वरिष्ठ सभागृहाच्या ‘याचिका समिती’चे (Committee on Petitions) अध्यक्ष म्हणून नियुक्ती करण्यात आली. राज्यसभा सभापती सी.पी. राधाकृष्णन यांनी या समितीची पुनर्रचना केल्यानंतर, 20 मे 2026 पासून ही नियुक्ती अंमलात आली. |
| 3. Olympian wrestler Vinesh Phogat was allowed to participate in the selection trials for Asian Games, 2026 by the Delhi High Court on May 22, 2026. The trials were scheduled to be held on May 30 and 31, 2026. The case involved eligibility rules issued by the Wrestling Federation of India (WFI). 22 मे 2026 रोजी दिल्ली उच्च न्यायालयाने ऑलिम्पियन कुस्तीपटू विनेश फोगट हिला 2026 च्या आशियाई क्रीडा स्पर्धेसाठीच्या निवड चाचण्यांमध्ये सहभागी होण्याची परवानगी दिली. या चाचण्या 30 आणि 31 मे 2026 रोजी आयोजित करण्यात आल्या होत्या. हे प्रकरण भारतीय कुस्ती महासंघाने (WFI) जारी केलेल्या पात्रता नियमांशी संबंधित होते. |
| 4. The archaeological site in Hazaribag district of Jharkhand has revealed evidence of a layered settlement in the Mohane river basin in Chauparan block. The site includes villages like Dehar, Sohra, Mangarh and Hathinder where artefacts have been recovered during farming and digging foundation. झारखंडच्या हजारीबाग जिल्ह्यातील एका पुरातत्त्वीय स्थळावर, चौपारण तालुक्यामधील मोहने नदी खोऱ्यात एका ‘थरयुक्त वसाहती’चे (layered settlement) पुरावे आढळून आले आहेत. या स्थळामध्ये देहर, सोहरा, मंगढ आणि हाथिंदर यांसारख्या गावांचा समावेश असून, येथे शेतीकामादरम्यान आणि घरांचा पाया खोदताना विविध पुरातत्त्वीय वस्तू (artefacts) सापडल्या आहेत. |
| 5. The United Nations Military Gender Advocate of the Year Award for 2025 was awarded to Major Abhilasha Barak, an officer of the Indian Army on 22-23 May 2026. She is currently serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon as Commander of the Female Engagement Team in the Indian Battalion. 2025 सालासाठीचा ‘संयुक्त राष्ट्र लष्करी लिंग-समानता पुरस्कर्ता’ (Military Gender Advocate) पुरस्कार, भारतीय लष्करातील अधिकारी मेजर अभिलाषा बराक यांना 22-23 मे 2026 रोजी प्रदान करण्यात आला. त्या सध्या लेबनॉनमधील ‘संयुक्त राष्ट्र अंतरिम दला’मध्ये (UNIFIL) भारतीय बटालियनमधील ‘महिला सहभाग पथका’च्या (Female Engagement Team) कमांडर म्हणून कार्यरत आहेत. |
| 6. Ganjam district’s original Bomkai weaving tradition is being revived by Odisha’s Handlooms, Textiles and Handicrafts department. The project approved by the state government in the last financial year is “Revival of Languishing Products (Cotton Bomkai Saree)” गंजम जिल्ह्यातील मूळच्या ‘बोमकाई’ विणकाम परंपरेचे पुनरुज्जीवन ओडिशाच्या हातमाग, वस्त्रोद्योग आणि हस्तकला विभागाद्वारे केले जात आहे. गत आर्थिक वर्षात राज्य सरकारने मंजूर केलेला हा प्रकल्प “लयास जाणाऱ्या उत्पादनांचे पुनरुज्जीवन (सुती बोमकाई साडी)” हा आहे. |
| 7. India’s third phase of Corporate Average Fuel Efficiency norms, CAFE III, will come into force from April 1, 2027 till March 31, 2032. The Bureau of Energy Efficiency in the Ministry of Power prescribes the norms. The norms are applicable to M1 category passenger vehicles, with a seating capacity of up to nine persons and a gross vehicle weight of up to 3,500 kg. The Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) regulation for heavy vehicles will apply to new models as of 1 April 2026 and existing production models as of 1 October 2026. भारताच्या ‘कॉर्पोरेट सरासरी इंधन कार्यक्षमता’ (CAFE) मानकांचा तिसरा टप्पा—CAFE III—१ एप्रिल २०२७ पासून ३१ मार्च २०३२ पर्यंत अंमलात राहील. ऊर्जा मंत्रालयांतर्गत कार्यरत असलेल्या ‘ऊर्जा कार्यक्षमता ब्युरो’द्वारे (BEE) ही मानके विहित केली जातात. ही मानके M1 श्रेणीतील प्रवासी वाहनांना लागू होतात; ज्यांची आसनक्षमता नऊ व्यक्तींपर्यंत असते आणि ज्यांचे एकूण वाहन वजन (Gross Vehicle Weight) ३,५०० किलोग्रॅमपर्यंत असते. अवजड वाहनांसाठीचे ‘प्रगत चालक सहाय्य प्रणाली’ (ADAS) नियम १ एप्रिल २०२६ पासून नवीन मॉडेल्सना, तर १ ऑक्टोबर २०२६ पासून सध्या उत्पादनात असलेल्या मॉडेल्सना लागू होतील. |
| 8. The Supreme Court of India has ordered all police stations in India to file a First Information Report on every complaint of a missing child or missing person. The bench comprising Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah and Justice R Mahadevan had passed the order on May 22, 2026. The guidance includes missing children, missing adults, kidnapping-related offences, Anti-Human Trafficking Units and national data grid for trafficking cases. भारताच्या सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने भारतातील सर्व पोलीस ठाण्यांना, हरवलेले मूल किंवा हरवलेली व्यक्ती यांबाबतच्या प्रत्येक तक्रारीवर ‘प्रथम माहिती अहवाल’ (FIR) दाखल करण्याचे निर्देश दिले आहेत. न्यायमूर्ती अहसानुद्दीन अमनुल्ला आणि न्यायमूर्ती आर. महादेवन यांचा समावेश असलेल्या खंडपीठाने २२ मे २०२६ रोजी हा आदेश पारित केला होता. या मार्गदर्शक तत्त्वांमध्ये हरवलेली मुले, हरवलेले प्रौढ व्यक्ती, अपहरणाशी संबंधित गुन्हे, मानवी तस्करीविरोधी पथके आणि तस्करीच्या प्रकरणांसाठीच्या राष्ट्रीय माहिती जाळ्याचा (डेटा ग्रिडचा) समावेश आहे. |
