1. Indian fintech company PhonePe has got in-principle approval from the Central Bank of the UAE to operate two payment licenses. The approvals are for Retail Payment Services and Card Schemes (RPSCS) and Stored Value Facilities (SVF), which are both regulated payment categories in the United Arab Emirates.

भारतीय फिनटेक कंपनी ‘फोन-पे’ (PhonePe) ला संयुक्त अरब अमिरातीच्या (UAE) मध्यवर्ती बँकेकडून दोन पेमेंट परवाने चालवण्यासाठी तत्त्वतः मंजुरी मिळाली आहे. या मंजुऱ्या ‘रिटेल पेमेंट सर्व्हिसेस अँड कार्ड स्कीम्स’ (RPSCS) आणि ‘स्टोअर्ड व्हॅल्यू फॅसिलिटीज’ (SVF) यांसाठी आहेत; या दोन्ही संयुक्त अरब अमिरातीमधील नियंत्रित पेमेंट श्रेणी आहेत.

2. The Greater One-Horned Rhinoceros population in Assam is 3,260 as of September 2026. The population of this same species was 4,075 in September 2026. This figure represents nearly 80% of the global population of the species. India had 3,323 more greater one-horned rhinos and Nepal had 752 in the same period.

सप्टेंबर 2026 पर्यंत आसाममधील ‘ग्रेटर वन-हॉर्न्ड राइनोसिरस’ची (एका शिंगाच्या गेंड्यांची) संख्या 3,260 इतकी होती. याच प्रजातीची संख्या सप्टेंबर 2026 मध्ये 4,075 इतकी होती. ही संख्या या प्रजातीच्या जागतिक लोकसंख्येच्या जवळपास 80% आहे. याच कालावधीत भारतात 3,323 आणि नेपाळमध्ये 752 ‘ग्रेटर वन-हॉर्न्ड राइनोसिरस’ होते.

3. According to Indian Standard IS 19348:2025, the Indian government has made Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) certification mandatory for smartphone screen protectors. The rule will be applicable to manufacturers and importers selling screen protectors in India from April 1, 2027.

भारतीय मानक IS 19348:2025 नुसार, भारत सरकारने स्मार्टफोन स्क्रीन प्रोटेक्टर्ससाठी ‘ब्युरो ऑफ इंडियन स्टँडर्ड्स’ (BIS) प्रमाणपत्र अनिवार्य केले आहे. हा नियम 1 एप्रिल 2027 पासून भारतात स्क्रीन प्रोटेक्टर्सची विक्री करणाऱ्या उत्पादक आणि आयातदारांना लागू होईल.

4. The Indian government has amended the Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Rules, 2011 to mandate origin-based symbols on certain personal care products. The Legal Metrology (Packaged Commodities) Fourth Amendment Rules, 2026 were notified on 21 September 2026 and came into force on 21 September 2026.

भारत सरकारने वैयक्तिक निगा राखणाऱ्या काही उत्पादनांवर उत्पादनाच्या उगमस्थानाशी संबंधित चिन्हे दर्शवणे अनिवार्य करण्यासाठी ‘लीगल मेट्रोलॉजी (पॅकेज्ड कमोडिटीज) नियम, 2011’ मध्ये सुधारणा केली आहे. ‘लीगल मेट्रोलॉजी (पॅकेज्ड कमोडिटीज) चौथी सुधारणा नियम, 2026’ ची अधिसूचना 21 सप्टेंबर 2026 रोजी जारी करण्यात आली आणि हे नियम त्याच दिवशी, म्हणजेच 21 सप्टेंबर 2026 रोजी अंमलात आले.

5. On 22 September 2026, the United States, Denmark and Greenland signed a new security agreement on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York. US President Donald Trump, Denmark Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen and Greenland Premier Jens-Frederik Nielsen signed the pact. It updates the 1951 US-Danish Defense Agreement that has regulated American military access to Greenland for 75 years.

22 सप्टेंबर 2026 रोजी, न्यूयॉर्कमधील संयुक्त राष्ट्रांच्या आमसभेच्या पार्श्वभूमीवर अमेरिका, डेन्मार्क आणि ग्रीनलँड यांनी एका नवीन सुरक्षा करारावर स्वाक्षऱ्या केल्या. अमेरिकेचे राष्ट्राध्यक्ष डोनाल्ड ट्रम्प, डेन्मार्कच्या पंतप्रधान मेटे फ्रेडरिकसेन आणि ग्रीनलँडचे प्रीमियर जेन्स-फ्रेडरिक निल्सन यांनी या करारावर स्वाक्षऱ्या केल्या. हा करार 1951 मधील अमेरिका-डेन्मार्क संरक्षण करारात सुधारणा करतो; या जुन्या कराराने गेल्या 75 वर्षांपासून ग्रीनलँडमधील अमेरिकन लष्करी प्रवेशाचे नियमन केले होते.

6. On 22 September 2026, a weather system over the Bay of Bengal developed into a deep depression. The India Meteorological Department predicted that it would cross the north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coast between Visakhapatnam and Gopalpur between the nite of 23 September and the early hours of 24 September 2026.

8. India’s AH-64E Apache attack helicopters are part of Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026, the 22nd iteration of the annual India-United States bilateral military exercise. The exercise will commence on 15 September 2026 and is scheduled to conclude on 28 September 2026. The exercise is being conducted by Indian Army and United States Army personnel in integrated field training in Rajasthan and Uttarakhand.

भारताची AH-64E ‘अपाचे’ (Apache) ही लढाऊ हेलिकॉप्टर्स ‘युद्ध अभ्यास 2026’ (Exercise Yudh Abhyas 2026) या सरावात सहभागी होत आहेत; हा भारत आणि अमेरिका यांच्यातील वार्षिक द्विपक्षीय लष्करी सरावाचा 22 वा टप्पा आहे. हा सराव 15 सप्टेंबर 2026 रोजी सुरू होईल आणि 28 सप्टेंबर 2026 रोजी त्याची सांगता होणार आहे. राजस्थान आणि उत्तराखंडमध्ये भारतीय लष्कर आणि अमेरिकन लष्कराच्या जवानांद्वारे हा ‘एकात्मिक क्षेत्रीय सराव’ (integrated field training) आयोजित केला जात आहे.
