2. International Chernobyl Disaster Remembrance Day is observed on 26 April. The day aims to raise awareness of the consequences of the Chernobyl disaster and the risks of nuclear energy in general.
आंतरराष्ट्रीय चेरनोबिल आपत्ती स्मरण दिन 26 एप्रिल रोजी साजरा केला जातो. चेरनोबिल आपत्तीचे परिणाम आणि सर्वसाधारणपणे अणुऊर्जेच्या जोखमीबद्दल जागरूकता वाढविणे हे या दिवसाचे उद्दीष्ट आहे.

3. The Assam government has deposited 2000 rupees to 1.6 lakh people who are stranded outside the state under Assam Cares initiative.

4. The Thuthukudi airport in Tamilnadu, near the strategically important Bay of Bengal coast, has been upgraded to level 3 by the Airport Authority of India.

6. World Immunization Week is celebrated from 24-30 April. It is celebrated in the last week of April by the World Health Organization (WHO). The observation of the week aims to promote the use of vaccines in order to protect people of all ages against disease.
24-30 एप्रिलपासून जागतिक लसीकरण सप्ताह साजरा केला जातो. जागतिक आरोग्य संघटनेने (डब्ल्यूएचओ) एप्रिलच्या शेवटच्या आठवड्यात साजरा केला. आठवड्याच्या निरीक्षणामध्ये रोगापासून सर्व वयोगटातील लोकांना संरक्षण देण्यासाठी लसांच्या वापरास प्रोत्साहन देणे होय.

7. Researchers at the Institute of Nano Science and Technology (INST) have developed carbon nitride quantum dots (g-CNQDs), a low-cost metal-free nanomaterial for visible light microbial disinfection. It can be an alternative to silver and other metal-based materials.

8. Scientists at CSIR-National Botanical Research Institute (NBRI), Lucknow, have developed a herbal decongestant spray.

9. Saudi Arabia has abolished flogging as a form of punishment. Court-order flogging in Saudi Arabia, sometimes extending to hundreds of lashes, have long drawn condemnation from human rights groups.
