| 1. On Saturday, Union Home Minister Amit Shah laid out a big plan to change India’s internal security system. He called for the creation of a “impenetrable anti-terrorism grid” and announced a “360-degree strike” strategy against organized crime. | 4. The Bureau of Indian Standards has announced India’s first national standard for agarbattis. This is a big step forward for consumer safety and product quality. On National Consumer Day 2025, the new standard IS 19412:2025 was announced. It sets clear rules for raw materials, how well they burn, how good the smell is, and how safe the chemicals are. | 6. The Income-tax Act, 2025 will replace the Income-tax Act, 1961, making the most significant changes to India’s direct tax system in more than 60 years. Starting on April 1, 2026, the new law will apply to money made in the 2025–26 financial year and beyond.
