| 1. On Friday, President Droupadi Murmu became the first Indian President to fly in an attack helicopter. She flew in the Light Combat Helicopter (LCH) Prachand, which was made in India, near the India–Pakistan border in Rajasthan. The 25-minute flight left from the Jaisalmer Air Force Station. It was another step forward in her work with frontline military platforms as the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. Advertisement

Researchers say they have made a lot of progress toward a possible vaccine against the Epstein-Barr virus (EBV), which is a common pathogen that causes infectious mononucleosis, multiple sclerosis, and some cancers. Almost 95% of people in the world have EBV, but when the virus reactivates, the risk of serious complications goes up, especially in people with weak immune systems. | 3. After renewed fighting across the border, Islamabad declared “open war” on the Afghan Taliban government, which has made tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan much worse. The situation got worse after Pakistani airstrikes hit Kabul, Kandahar, and Paktia just hours after Afghan forces attacked Pakistani border positions. Both sides have reported a lot of deaths, but the numbers vary widely. | 4. The “Rail Parcel Application” is the next generation of South Central Railway’s (SCR) digital e-marketplace. It lets you book and deliver packages by train from door to door. The project is a big step toward making parcel logistics more digital on Indian Railways. During the 2026 International Customs Day celebrations in New Delhi, the Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) will launch the new version of the single-window platform SWIFT 2.0, a Digital Travellers Guide, and a new version of the Atithi app. Pankaj Chaudhary, the Union Minister of State for Finance, and high-ranking officials from the Department of Revenue will be in charge of the event. | 6. The Telangana Police has launched “Operation Crackdown”, a statewide drive aimed at dismantling organised cybercrime networks and curbing financial fraud. Shripad Yesso Naik, the Union Minister of State for Power and New and Renewable Energy, said at the India Energy Transition Summit 2026 in New Delhi that India’s total installed power capacity has gone over 520 gigawatts, with more than half of that coming from sources other than fossil fuels. The Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) put on the summit. | 8. During a high-level Climate Talk in New Delhi, India and Germany reaffirmed their commitment to making climate adaptation and resilience stronger. The conversation was mostly about how to support India’s National Adaptation Plan (NAP) and how to move forward with ecosystem-based approaches.
