1. The first India-Saudi Arabia joint military exercise, ‘SADA TANSEEQ’, began on January 29th in Rajasthan. The goal is to foster interoperability, camaraderie, and friendship among the troops. The exercise will last until February 10.
The Saudi contingent includes 45 members of the Royal Saudi Land Forces. A Mechanised Infantry battalion with 45 members makes up the Indian contingent.
भारत-सौदी अरेबियाचा पहिला संयुक्त लष्करी सराव ‘सदा तानसीक’ 29 जानेवारी रोजी राजस्थानमध्ये सुरू झाला. सैन्यांमध्ये परस्पर कार्यक्षमता, सौहार्द आणि मैत्री वाढवणे हे ध्येय आहे. हा सराव 10 फेब्रुवारीपर्यंत चालणार आहे.
सौदीच्या तुकडीमध्ये रॉयल सौदी लँड फोर्सेसच्या 45 सदस्यांचा समावेश आहे. 45 सदस्यांसह एक यांत्रिक पायदळ बटालियन भारतीय तुकडी बनवते.

2. India has proposed the “Maratha Military Landscapes of India” for the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2024-25. The sites highlight the Maratha empire’s strategic military capabilities during the 17th and 19th centuries.
भारताने 2024-25 मध्ये युनेस्कोच्या जागतिक वारसा यादीसाठी “भारतातील मराठा लष्करी भूदृश्ये” प्रस्तावित केली आहेत. 17व्या आणि 19व्या शतकातील मराठा साम्राज्याच्या सामरिक लष्करी क्षमतांवर या साइट्सवर प्रकाश टाकण्यात आला आहे.

3. Prior to the Interim Budget, the Finance Ministry released the “The Indian Economy: A Review” Report, which outlined four major challenges confronting the country. This comes as India aims to become a $7 trillion economy by 2030, in the next 6-7 years.
According to the report, while domestic performance drives growth, global spillovers are also important, given the increasing globalisation. Slowing hyper-globalization and offshoring trends will have an impact on trade and growth.

4. The President of France recently visited India on Republic Day (January 26th) to discuss bilateral cooperation, expressing satisfaction with the increasing “complexity and interoperability” of India-France joint defence exercises.

5. Several regions in Andhra Pradesh, Odisha, and Punjab have recently seen the release of mosquitofish into local water bodies as a measure to combat the growing mosquito population.

6. In the case of Neetu Grover v. Union of India & Ors, 2024, the Delhi High Court recently rejected a challenge to the constitutionality of Section 5(v) of the Hindu Marriage Act, 1955 (HMA), which prohibits marriage between two Hindus who are “Sapindas” to each other.
