| 1. A new project has been started by scientists to find high-energy neutrinos, which are sometimes called “ghost particles,” below the Mediterranean Sea. The Cubic Kilometre Neutrino Telescope (KM3NeT), which is part of this project, has two lenses. One device looks at neutrinos that come from space, and the other looks at neutrinos that come from the atmosphere. This new method is similar to the IceCube Neutrino Observatory, which is located under the ice in Antarctica.

| 2. Tamil Nadu just opened a new, innovative glass bridge over the sea, making it easier to get between two famous sites. This change is happening at the same time as the celebrations for the Tiruvalluvar Statue’s silver jubilee. The statue has become a sign of national pride.

| 3. The government of Trinidad and Tobago has called for a state of emergency because there is more crime than usual. There have been a lot more killings in the country; in December alone, at least 67 people were killed. The number of deaths each year has now reached 623, which is the biggest number since 2013.

| 4. To improve growth, the Indian government is focused on a method that puts the needs of the people first. A big part of this project is the Centralized Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS). Between 2022 and 2024, it successfully dealt with more than 70 lakh complaints, which led to a more responsive control structure.

| 5. ISRO’s 99th mission, PSLV-C60, was launched successfully at the end of 2024. SpaDex and POEM-4 were two experimental projects that were part of this trip. As 2025 starts, these tests will move forward. ISRO has also stated that its 100th mission will be the first mission of the year.

| 6. The Indian government has chosen not to share the Good Governance Index (GGI) 2023 at this time. This choice was made right before the planned reveal during Good Governance Week, which runs from December 19th to December 25th. We now know that the next version of the index will come out in 2025.

| 7. The Indian Ministry of Defense just signed two deals for Scorpene-class submarines worth a total of ₹2,867 crore. The contracts are mostly about using new tools to make these subs better at what they do.

| 8. The Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) recently gave people who are part of the Vivad Se Vishwas plan more time to file their taxes. The old due date was December 31, 2024, but the new date is January 31, 2025. The goal of this extension is to give people more time to figure out how much they owe under the plan.
केंद्रीय प्रत्यक्ष कर मंडळाने (CBDT) अलिकडेच ‘विवाद से विश्वास’ योजनेचा भाग असलेल्या लोकांना कर भरण्यासाठी अधिक वेळ दिला आहे. जुनी देय तारीख 31 डिसेंबर 2024 होती, परंतु नवीन तारीख 31 जानेवारी 2025 आहे. या मुदतवाढीचा उद्देश लोकांना योजनेअंतर्गत किती देय आहे हे शोधण्यासाठी अधिक वेळ देणे आहे. |
