1. The finance minister of India has requested the World Trade Organisation (WTO) to consider the matter of farm subsidies with an unbiased view as it affects the food security requirements of developing countries amidst the COVID-19 pandemic and the Russia-Ukraine crisis.
भारताच्या अर्थमंत्र्यांनी जागतिक व्यापार संघटना (WTO) ला विनंती केली आहे की कृषी अनुदानाच्या बाबींचा निःपक्षपाती दृष्टीकोनातून विचार करावा कारण त्याचा कोविड-19 साथीच्या रोग आणि रशिया-युक्रेन संकटादरम्यान विकसनशील देशांच्या अन्न सुरक्षा आवश्यकतांवर परिणाम होतो.

2. In a recent ruling, the Supreme Court (SC) has refused to order the government to commute the death penalty of Balwant Singh Rajoana. The court has instead allowed the government to decide on the Mercy Petition when necessary.
नुकत्याच दिलेल्या एका निर्णयात सर्वोच्च न्यायालयाने (SC) बलवंत सिंग राजोआनाच्या फाशीची शिक्षा कमी करण्याचे आदेश देण्यास सरकारला नकार दिला आहे. न्यायालयाने त्याऐवजी सरकारला आवश्यकतेनुसार दया याचिकेवर निर्णय घेण्याची परवानगी दिली आहे.

3. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has estimated that the cumulative total expenditure for India’s adaptation to climate change could reach 85.6 lakh crore (approximately 1.2 trillion USD) by 2030. This estimation has been made in the RBI’s Report on Currency and Finance 2022-23.
भारतीय रिझर्व्ह बँक (RBI) ने अंदाज वर्तवला आहे की भारताचा हवामान बदलाशी जुळवून घेण्यासाठी 2030 पर्यंत एकत्रित एकूण खर्च 85.6 लाख कोटी (अंदाजे 1.2 ट्रिलियन USD) पर्यंत पोहोचू शकतो. हा अंदाज RBI च्या चलन आणि वित्त 2022-23 च्या अहवालात करण्यात आला आहे.

4. The Global Report on Food Crises (GRFC) for 2023 has been released by the Global Network against Food Crises (GNAFC). The report was produced by the Food Security Information Network (FSIN).

5. “Global Warming’s Four Indias, 2022” is a report published by the Yale Program on Climate Change Communication and CVoter International, a polling agency based in Delhi, India. The report analyzes public perceptions and attitudes towards climate change across four different demographic groups in India.

6. Scientists in southern India have discovered a new type of underground catfish after searching for signs of subterranean creatures for six years. They named the newly discovered species Horaglanis populi.
दक्षिण भारतातील शास्त्रज्ञांनी सहा वर्षांपासून भूगर्भातील प्राण्यांच्या चिन्हांचा शोध घेतल्यानंतर एका नवीन प्रकारच्या भूमिगत कॅटफिशचा शोध लावला आहे. त्यांनी नव्याने शोधलेल्या प्रजातीला Horaglanis populi असे नाव दिले.
