| 1. Launched by the Indian Navy under the Indian Ocean Ship (IOS) SAGAR project, the Offshore Patrol Vessel INS Sunayna set sail on April 5, 2025. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh oversaw the ceremony at this occasion held in Karwar, Karnataka. The unveiling marks India’s will to uphold regional maritime security and international collaboration in the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). It falls on National Maritime Day and the tenth anniversary of the SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) effort.
भारतीय नौदलाने इंडियन ओशन शिप (IOS) SAGAR प्रकल्पांतर्गत सुरू केलेले, ऑफशोअर पेट्रोल व्हेसल INS सुनयना हे ५ एप्रिल २०२५ रोजी रवाना झाले. कर्नाटकातील कारवार येथे झालेल्या या कार्यक्रमात संरक्षण मंत्री राजनाथ सिंह यांच्या देखरेखीखाली हा कार्यक्रम झाला. हे अनावरण प्रादेशिक सागरी सुरक्षा आणि हिंद महासागर प्रदेशात (IOR) आंतरराष्ट्रीय सहकार्य कायम ठेवण्याची भारताची इच्छा दर्शवते. हा दिवस राष्ट्रीय सागरी दिन आणि SAGAR (प्रदेशातील सर्वांसाठी सुरक्षा आणि वाढ) प्रयत्नांच्या दहाव्या वर्धापन दिनानिमित्त येतो. |
| 2. The Indian government is stepping up its efforts to prevent cervical cancer by implementing a vaccination campaign against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). The Union Health Ministry plans to improve the ability of frontline personnel who provide vaccinations. Following the government’s pledge in the 2024 interim budget to encourage vaccination among girls aged 9 to 14, recent debates and tactics have surfaced. | 3. Amid allegations of illicit weaponry supply to Russia, India’s Ministry of External Affairs has defended its strategic trade policies. | 4. The Indian Supreme Court has ruled that all judges, including the Chief Justice, must make their financial information publicly available. This ruling comes after a recent controversy in which a judge from the Delhi High Court was discovered to have substantial funds. In the past, judges were exempt from disclosing their financial details. This new policy represents a change in the court toward accountability and openness.

| 8. To improve the recognition of foreign academic credentials, the University Grants Commission (UGC) has implemented new rules. The goal of this program is to help Indian students who are returning from overseas and frequently face difficulties getting their degrees accepted. The UGC’s rules, which go into effect on April 4, 2025, provide a transparent and technologically advanced procedure for evaluating international credentials.
