1. According to the study, these activities contribute to approximately 40% of the carbon budget per capita that is required to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees Celsius. These digital behaviours result in an annual average per individual emission of 229 kilogrammes of CO2-equivalent, which accounts for approximately 3-4% of the worldwide per capita greenhouse gas emissions.
