| 1. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has announced measures to improve the security of online payments. This new measure is focused on cross-border “Card Not Present” (CNP) transactions. The adoption of Additional Factor of Authentication (AFA) is intended to ensure that foreign digital transactions using Indian-issued cards are as safe as domestic ones. This change is in reaction to the growing amount of online purchasing and the corresponding growth in fraud concerns.

| 3. The Reserve Bank of India’s move to lower the repo rate by 25 basis points to 6.25 percent signals a change in monetary policy. This is the first decline in over five years. The measure aims to boost economic activity by making borrowing more affordable. On February 7, 2025, the Monetary Policy Committee (MPC) voted unanimously to approve this move.
