1. Katalin Novak has been elected as the first female President of the country. She is also Hungary’s youngest President at 44 years of age.

2. The Sri Lankan Prime Minister (PM) Mahinda Rajapaksa tendered his resignation as Prime Minister to the Sri Lankan President.

3. Balkrishna Vithaldas Doshi has been conferred with the prestigious Royal Gold Medal 2022. This award is said to be one of the world’s highest honours that one can receive in the field of architecture.

5. Recently, the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) and the Confederation of British Industry (CBI) inked a pact to establish the UK-India Business Commission.

6. The solar industry has gathered in Munich, Germany for the Intersolar Europe 2022 that is being held from 11th to 13th May 2022. This event is providing a wide range of solar thermal, photovoltaics (PV), and solar plant solutions.

7. On 10th May 2022, Yoon Suk-yeol was sworn in as the new president of South Korea in Seoul’s National Assembly. He took office at a time when there are high ongoing tensions with North Korea.

8. The Bengali translation of the French novel “Meursault, contre- enquête” (The Meursault Investigation) was awarded the Romain Rolland Book Prize 2022. This year’s award is the 5th edition of this book prize.

9. Pushp Kumar Joshi has took over as the new chairman and managing director of India’s third largest oil refining and fuel marketing company Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Ltd (HPCL).
पुष्प कुमार जोशी यांनी भारतातील तिसरी सर्वात मोठी तेल शुद्धीकरण आणि इंधन विपणन कंपनी हिंदुस्तान पेट्रोलियम कॉर्पोरेशन लिमिटेड (HPCL) चे नवीन अध्यक्ष आणि व्यवस्थापकीय संचालक म्हणून पदभार स्वीकारला आहे.

10. Pandit Shivkumar Sharma, an Indian music composer and santoor musician, died at 84.
