1. The Chief Minister of Assam announced that the state government is planning to ban the practice of polygamy through legislative action. To examine the issue, an expert committee will be formed. Polygamy refers to the practice of marrying multiple partners, which is currently legal for certain religious communities in India. The move is seen as a step towards gender equality and women’s empowerment in the state.
आसामच्या मुख्यमंत्र्यांनी घोषणा केली की राज्य सरकार विधिमंडळ कारवाईद्वारे बहुपत्नीत्व प्रथेवर बंदी घालण्याचा विचार करत आहे. या प्रकरणाची तपासणी करण्यासाठी तज्ज्ञांची समिती स्थापन करण्यात येणार आहे. बहुपत्नीत्वाचा संदर्भ अनेक भागीदारांशी विवाह करण्याची प्रथा आहे, जी सध्या भारतातील काही धार्मिक समुदायांसाठी कायदेशीर आहे. राज्यातील स्त्री-पुरुष समानता आणि महिला सक्षमीकरणाच्या दिशेने एक पाऊल म्हणून या हालचालीकडे पाहिले जात आहे.

2. Recently, the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSME) held the first meeting of the National MSME Council in New Delhi. The council is aimed at providing a platform to the MSME sector to engage with various stakeholders, including the government, financial institutions, and industry bodies. The meeting was chaired by the Union Minister of MSME and was attended by members from various sectors, including industry, academia, and financial institutions. The council discussed several issues related to the growth and development of the MSME sector, including access to finance, technology upgradation, market linkages, and skill development.
अलीकडेच, सूक्ष्म, लघु आणि मध्यम उद्योग मंत्रालयाने (MSME) राष्ट्रीय MSME परिषदेची पहिली बैठक नवी दिल्ली येथे घेतली. सरकार, वित्तीय संस्था आणि उद्योग संस्थांसह विविध भागधारकांशी संवाद साधण्यासाठी एमएसएमई क्षेत्राला व्यासपीठ उपलब्ध करून देण्याचे या परिषदेचे उद्दिष्ट आहे. या बैठकीचे अध्यक्ष केंद्रीय एमएसएमई मंत्री होते आणि उद्योग, शैक्षणिक आणि वित्तीय संस्थांसह विविध क्षेत्रातील सदस्य उपस्थित होते. कौन्सिलने एमएसएमई क्षेत्राच्या वाढ आणि विकासाशी संबंधित अनेक मुद्द्यांवर चर्चा केली, ज्यामध्ये वित्त, तंत्रज्ञान अपग्रेडेशन, मार्केट लिंकेज आणि कौशल्य विकास यांचा समावेश आहे.

In a recent case, the Supreme Court of India ruled that the decision of the former Governor of Maharashtra to call for a Floor Test, asking the then Chief Minister to prove his majority in the house, was not justified. However, the court could not restore his government as he did not face the floor test. The court also held that the actions of the Governor had created a “ceremonial and political” controversy, and that the floor test was a “constitutional and democratic imperative.” The case was related to the political crisis that occurred in Maharashtra in 2019 when a coalition government led by the Shiv Sena collapsed.

4. The Ministry of Ports, Shipping & Waterways has introduced new guidelines called ‘Harit Sagar’ to help ports become more environmentally friendly and reach the goal of emitting zero carbon by 2023.

6. Indian archer Atanu Das, who won a silver medal in the 2021 World Championships, has been re-inducted into the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS). TOPS is a program launched by the Government of India to identify and support athletes who have the potential to win medals at the Olympics.
2021 च्या जागतिक स्पर्धेत रौप्य पदक जिंकणारा भारतीय तिरंदाज अतनु दास याला लक्ष्य ऑलिम्पिक पोडियम स्कीम (TOPS) मध्ये पुन्हा समाविष्ट करण्यात आले आहे. TOPS हा भारत सरकारने ऑलिम्पिकमध्ये पदक जिंकण्याची क्षमता असलेल्या खेळाडूंना ओळखण्यासाठी आणि त्यांना पाठिंबा देण्यासाठी सुरू केलेला एक कार्यक्रम आहे.
