1. Environment Minister Prakash Javadekar has announced that a massive campaign will be launched to make India free of single-use plastic.
पर्यावरणमंत्री प्रकाश जावडेकर यांनी जाहीर केले की, भारत एकल-वापर प्लास्टिकमुक्त करण्यासाठी व्यापक मोहीम राबविली जाईल.

2. Addressing the nation from the Red Fort on the occasion of Independence Day, the Prime Minister announced that the country will now have a Chief of Defence Staff, CDS.
स्वातंत्र्य दिनाच्या निमित्ताने लाल किल्ल्यावरून देशाला संबोधित करतांना पंतप्रधानांनी घोषित केले की आता देशामध्ये एक संरक्षण प्रमुख, सीडीएस असेल.

3. Harshad Pandurang Thakur has been appointed as the Director of National Institute of Health and Family Welfare.
हर्षद पांडुरंग ठाकूर यांची राष्ट्रीय आरोग्य व कुटुंब कल्याण संस्थाचालक म्हणून नियुक्ती करण्यात आली आहे.

4. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi has announced the roadmap for the welfare of farmers. The NDA government, in its second term, aims to double the income of the farmers. It also aims to provide house, electricity connection, optical fibre network and broadband connectivity to every house in all the villages across the country.
पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी यांनी शेतकऱ्यांच्या हितासाठी रोडमॅप जाहीर केला आहे. एनडीए सरकारने आपल्या दुसर्‍या कार्यकाळात शेतकऱ्यांचे  उत्पन्न दुप्पट करण्याचे उद्दीष्ट ठेवले आहे. तसेच देशातील सर्व खेड्यांमधील प्रत्येक घरासाठी घर, वीज कनेक्शन, ऑप्टिकल फायबर नेटवर्क आणि ब्रॉडबँड कनेक्टिव्हिटी प्रदान करण्याचे उद्दीष्ट आहे.

5. The Aadi Mahotsav, a National Tribal Festival, is celebrated at Polo Ground in Leh-Ladakh. It is a 9 day event that starts from 17th August to 25th August. It is celebrated with a theme of ‘A celebration of the spirit of Tribal Craft, Culture and Commerce’.
राष्ट्रीय आदिवासी महोत्सव, आदि महोत्सव लेह-लडाखच्या पोलो मैदानात साजरा केला जातो. हा 9 दिवसाचा कार्यक्रम आहे जो 17 ऑगस्ट ते 25 ऑगस्ट दरम्यान सुरू होईल. ‘आदिवासी शिल्प, संस्कृती आणि वाणिज्य या भावनेचा उत्सव’ या थीमसह हा उत्सव साजरा केला जातो.

6. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is on a two-day state visit to Bhutan. The two leader will hold talks to further deepen the bilateral ties. This is PM Modi’s second visit to Bhutan and the first since his re-election. In his visit, PM Modi is expected to sign 10 MoUs in fields like education amongst others and inaugurate 5 projects including the Mangdechhu hydroelectric power plant and the ISRO-built earth station in Thimphu.
पंतप्रधान नरेंद्र मोदी दोन दिवसांच्या भूतान दौर्‍यावर आहेत. द्विपक्षीय संबंध अधिक दृढ करण्यासाठी दोन्ही नेते चर्चा करणार आहेत. पंतप्रधान मोदींचा भूटानमधील हा दुसरा दौरा असून त्यांच्या पुन्हा निवडणुकीनंतरची ही पहिली भेट आहे. पंतप्रधान मोदी त्यांच्या भेटीत इतरांसारख्या शैक्षणिक क्षेत्रातील 10 सामंजस्य करारांवर स्वाक्षरी करतील आणि थिंपूमधील मंगडेचू जलविद्युत प्रकल्प आणि इसरो-निर्मित पृथ्वी स्टेशन यासह 5 प्रकल्पांचे उद्घाटन करतील.

7. Fifth BRICS Minister of Environment Meeting held in Sao Paulo, Brazil. It is preceded by the 2-day meeting of BRICS Joint Working Group on Environment. The Indian delegation led by Union Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Shri Prakash Javadekar.
ब्राझिलच्या साओ पाउलो येथे पर्यावरण मंत्रालयाची पाचवी बैठक आयोजित केली. त्यापूर्वी पर्यावरणावर ब्रिक्स जॉइंट वर्किंग ग्रुपच्या 2-दिवसीय बैठकीपूर्वी हा कार्यक्रम सुरू झाला आहे. केंद्रीय पर्यावरण, वन व हवामान बदल मंत्री श्री प्रकाश जावडेकर यांच्या नेतृत्वात भारतीय शिष्टमंडळाचे नेतृत्व केले.

8. India’s first Space Science Museum opened in Hyderabad. It is a collaborative effort between the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) and the BM Birla Science Centre.
दराबादमध्ये भारताचे पहिले अवकाश विज्ञान संग्रहालय उघडले. भारतीय अंतराळ संशोधन संस्था (इसरो) आणि बीएम बिर्ला विज्ञान केंद्र यांच्यात हा एक सहकार्याचा प्रयत्न आहे.

9. Asian and Commonwealth Games gold-medalist wrestler Bajrang Punia has been nominated for the country’s highest sporting honour – the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna award.
आशियाई व राष्ट्रकुल स्पर्धेतील सुवर्णपदक विजेता कुस्तीपटू बजरंग पुनिया यांना देशातील सर्वोच्च क्रीडा सन्मान – राजीव गांधी खेल रत्न पुरस्कारासाठी नामांकन देण्यात आले आहे.

10. Ravi Shastri was re-appointed head coach of the Indian men’s team by the Kapil Dev-led Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC).
कपिल देव यांच्या नेतृत्वाखालील क्रिकेट सल्लागार समितीने (सीएसी) रवी शास्त्री यांना भारतीय पुरुष संघाचा मुख्य प्रशिक्षक म्हणून पुन्हा नियुक्त केले.
