1. The International Day for the Eradication of Poverty is observed on October 17th to remind us that poverty is a complex issue. This year’s theme is ‘Decent Work and Social Protection: Putting Dignity in Practice for All.’
गरीबी ही एक गुंतागुंतीची समस्या आहे याची आठवण करून देण्यासाठी 17 ऑक्टोबर रोजी आंतरराष्ट्रीय गरिबी निर्मूलन दिन साजरा केला जातो. या वर्षीची थीम ‘सभ्य कार्य आणि सामाजिक संरक्षण: सर्वांसाठी प्रॅक्टिसमध्ये प्रतिष्ठा ठेवा.’

2. The movie ‘Rocketry: The Nambi Effect,’ directed by R Madhavan, has been honored as the Best Feature Film in the 69th National Film Awards.

3. According to the Periodic Labour Force Survey Report 2022-23, the Female Labor Force Participation Rate in the country has improved significantly by 4.2 percentage points to reach 37.0% in 2023.
नियतकालिक श्रम बल सर्वेक्षण अहवाल 2022-23 नुसार, देशातील महिला कामगार दल सहभाग दर 2023 मध्ये 37.0% पर्यंत 4.2 टक्के गुणांनी लक्षणीयरीत्या सुधारला आहे.

4. The Mahila Thana in Bhopal has achieved a significant milestone by becoming the first women-centric police station in the country to be awarded the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) certificate. This recognition highlights the improvements made by the Bhopal Mahila Thana in handling complaints, providing support to complainants, and conducting investigations.
इंटरनॅशनल ऑर्गनायझेशन फॉर स्टँडर्डायझेशन (ISO) प्रमाणपत्र मिळविणारे देशातील पहिले महिला-केंद्रित पोलीस स्टेशन बनून भोपाळमधील महिला ठाण्याने महत्त्वपूर्ण टप्पा गाठला आहे. ही ओळख भोपाळ महिला ठाण्याने तक्रारी हाताळणे, तक्रारदारांना आधार देणे आणि तपास करणे यामध्ये केलेल्या सुधारणांवर प्रकाश टाकते.

5. The Indian Army has achieved a remarkable feat by setting up the world’s first mobile tower and base transceiver station (BTS) on the Siachen Glacier, the highest battlefield on Earth. This initiative was carried out in collaboration with Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) to provide essential mobile communication services to soldiers stationed at an altitude of over 15,500 feet.
पृथ्वीवरील सर्वात उंच युद्धभूमी असलेल्या सियाचीन ग्लेशियरवर जगातील पहिले मोबाईल टॉवर आणि बेस ट्रान्सीव्हर स्टेशन (BTS) उभारून भारतीय लष्कराने उल्लेखनीय कामगिरी केली आहे. हा उपक्रम भारत संचार निगम लिमिटेड (BSNL) च्या सहकार्याने 15,500 फूट उंचीवर तैनात असलेल्या सैनिकांना अत्यावश्यक मोबाईल संप्रेषण सेवा प्रदान करण्यासाठी करण्यात आला.

6. The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has given its approval for a USD 181 million loan. This loan will be used to develop quality infrastructure and services with the goal of enhancing urban livability and mobility in the peri-urban areas of Ahmedabad.
