| 1. The Wellbeing Research Centre at the University of Oxford just issued the World Happiness Report 2025. It grades nations according to inhabitants’ self-assessed life ratings.

| 2. Recently, social media site X, formerly known as Twitter, filed a lawsuit against the Government of India in the Karnataka High Court. The case questions the government’s interpretation of Section 79(3)(b) of the Information Technology Act. X claims that the government’s content restriction procedures are unconstitutional and violate online free expression. The issue arose amid rising tensions between the platform and the Indian government over content control and restriction.

| 3. The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has advised the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Defence that numerous major concerns must be resolved prior to adopting integrated theater commands (ITCs). This is part of the MoD’s announcement of 2025 as the ‘Year of Reforms’.

| 5. The Serbian administration has refuted claims that police deployed sonic weapons to disperse anti-government protests. Sonic Weapons are devices that transmit highly focused, amplified sound across great distances, typically for crowd control. | 6. The Union Cabinet has approved a multi-sector package worth Rs 22,791 crore, which includes a Unified Payments Interface (UPI) incentive, a urea plant in Assam, a highway project in Maharashtra, and amended dairy development plans.

| 7. The Indian government has postponed the use of the Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) for toll collection, citing security and privacy issues.
