1. The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced that the schedule for elections in Maharashtra and Haryana will take place on 21 October 2019 and counting for both the states will happen on 24 October. The announcement was made by Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Sunil Arora.
भारतीय निवडणूक आयोगाने (ECI) निवडणुकांची घोषणा केली की महाराष्ट्र आणि हरियाणाची निवडणुक 21 ऑक्टोबर 2019 रोजी होईल आणि दोन्ही राज्यांमधील मतमोजणी 24 ऑक्टोबर रोजी होईल. मुख्य निवडणूक आयुक्त (ECI) सुनील अरोरा यांनी ही घोषणा केली.

2. Sonu Nigam, the Popular Bollywood playback singer, was honoured with the Magnificent Performing Arts Award at the 21st Century Icon Awards in London.

3. The movie Gully Boy has been selected as India’s official entry to the 92nd Oscar Awards. The ceremony has been scheduled to take place on 9 February 2020.

4. Madhukar Kamath, the chairman emeritus of advertising firm DDB Mudra Group, has been elected as the chairman of the Audit Bureau of Circulations (ABC) for 2019-20.

5. InterGlobe Aviation Limited operated IndiGo has appointed advocate Pallavi Shardul Shroff as independent woman director in the company. The appointment was approved by the board of directors of the airline.
इंटर ग्लोब एव्हिएशन लिमिटेड संचालित इंडिगोने कंपनीत अ‍ॅडव्होकेट पल्लवी शार्दुल श्रॉफ यांची स्वतंत्र महिला संचालक म्हणून नियुक्ती केली आहे. या नियुक्तीला एअरलाइन्सच्या संचालक मंडळाने मान्यता दिली.

6. Rose Day is observed on 22 September every year. It is for the welfare of cancer patients.

7. The Western Railway has installed a polyethylene terephthalate (PET) bottle crushing machine in Mumbai Rajdhani Express for the first time ever. The PET bottle crusher machine was installed in the train under the Indian Railways’ Swachh Bharat and Go Green missions. The move also ties in with an impending ban of single-use plastic by the Centre.

8. IDBI Bank’s Board of Directors approved the appointment of Samuel Joseph Jebaraj as Deputy Managing Director (DMD) for a period of 3 years with effect from September 19, 2019.
आयडीबीआय बँकेच्या संचालक मंडळाने 19 सप्टेंबर, 2019 पासून शमूएल जोसेफ जेबराज यांना उपव्यवस्थापकीय संचालक (डीएमडी) म्हणून नियुक्त करण्यास मान्यता दिली.

9. Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs Smt Nirmala Sitaraman revised the corporate tax rate downward and altering the percentage and application of Minimum Alternate Tax in certain cases. She took measures to stabilize and enhance the flow of funds into the capital market and broadened the scope of CSR funding.
केंद्रीय अर्थ व कॉर्पोरेट व्यवहार मंत्री श्रीमती निर्मला सीतारामन यांनी कॉर्पोरेट कर दरात खाली आणले आणि काही प्रकरणांमध्ये किमान पर्यायी कराच्या टक्केवारीत आणि अनुप्रयोगात बदल केला. भांडवल बाजारामध्ये निधीचा प्रवाह स्थिर आणि वाढविण्यासाठी तिने उपाययोजना केल्या आणि सीएसआर निधीची व्याप्ती वाढविली.

10. Indian wrestlers Deepak Punia won the World Wrestling Championships 2019 and secured his Olympics quota. Also, Rahul Aware reached the semi-finals of the ongoing tournament in their respective weight categories.
