1. IndiGo became the first Indian airline to ferry over 100 million passengers within the span of a calendar year. This milestone represents a 22 per cent jump in passenger traffic as compared to 2022 when the airline ferried over 78 million passengers.
इंडिगो एका कॅलेंडर वर्षाच्या कालावधीत 100 दशलक्ष प्रवाशांना घेऊन जाणारी पहिली भारतीय विमान कंपनी ठरली.
हा टप्पा 2022 च्या तुलनेत प्रवासी वाहतुकीत 22 टक्के वाढ दर्शवतो जेव्हा एअरलाइनने 78 दशलक्ष प्रवाशांना नेले.
2. The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has said India’s economic reforms have helped the nation become a star performer, contributing over 16% to global growth. According to which the South Asian country, underpinned by prudent macroeconomic policies, is on track to be one of the fastest-growing major economies in the world this year.
आंतरराष्ट्रीय नाणेनिधी (IMF) ने म्हटले आहे की भारताच्या आर्थिक सुधारणांमुळे देशाला एक स्टार परफॉर्मर बनण्यास मदत झाली आहे आणि जागतिक विकासामध्ये 16% पेक्षा जास्त योगदान दिले आहे. त्यानुसार दक्षिण आशियाई देश, विवेकपूर्ण समष्टि आर्थिक धोरणांवर आधारित, या वर्षी जगातील सर्वात वेगाने वाढणाऱ्या प्रमुख अर्थव्यवस्थांपैकी एक होण्याच्या मार्गावर आहे.
3. The five-day Kuno Van Mahotsav was celebrated in Ranipura village on the outskirts of Sheopur district of Madhya Pradesh (17 – 21 December). The event also aims to advocate cheetah conservation by highlighting the diverse flora and fauna and the importance of the Kuno Forest.
मध्य प्रदेशातील श्योपूर जिल्ह्याच्या बाहेरील राणीपुरा गावात (१७ – २१ डिसेंबर) पाच दिवसीय कुनो वन महोत्सव साजरा करण्यात आला. वैविध्यपूर्ण वनस्पती आणि प्राणी आणि कुनो जंगलाचे महत्त्व अधोरेखित करून चित्ता संवर्धनाचा पुरस्कार करणे हा या कार्यक्रमाचा उद्देश आहे.
4. The United Nations has declared the year 2024 as the International Year of the Camelids to highlight the importance of camelids in the lives of people around the world.
जगभरातील लोकांच्या जीवनात उंटांचे महत्त्व अधोरेखित करण्यासाठी संयुक्त राष्ट्रांनी 2024 हे वर्ष उंटांचे आंतरराष्ट्रीय वर्ष म्हणून घोषित केले आहे.
5. SBI signed a 70 million euro (approximately Rs 630 crore) Line of Credit (LoC) with KfW. The LoC with German Development Bank KfW is for promoting solar project in the country.
SBI ने KfW सह 70 दशलक्ष युरो (अंदाजे 630 कोटी रुपये) लाइन ऑफ क्रेडिट (LoC) वर स्वाक्षरी केली. जर्मन डेव्हलपमेंट बँक KfW सह LoC देशातील सौर प्रकल्पाला चालना देण्यासाठी आहे.
6. The Indian Navy signed a MoU with IIT Kanpur to promote innovation at Naval Headquarters in New Delhi. This will be helpful in enhancing the capacity of both sides and providing solutions to regional issues.
भारतीय नौदलाने नवी दिल्लीतील नौदल मुख्यालयात नावीन्यपूर्णतेला प्रोत्साहन देण्यासाठी IIT कानपूरसोबत सामंजस्य करार केला. दोन्ही बाजूंची क्षमता वाढवण्यासाठी आणि प्रादेशिक समस्यांवर तोडगा काढण्यासाठी हे उपयुक्त ठरेल.
7. Hyderabad (6th time) city attained the 153rd spot in the Quality of Living Index 2023. Pune (154th) has the second-best ‘quality of living’ in India.
हैदराबाद (6व्यांदा) शहराने गुणवत्ता निर्देशांक 2023 मध्ये 153 वे स्थान प्राप्त केले आहे. पुणे (154वे) भारतातील दुसऱ्या क्रमांकावर ‘जीवनमानाची गुणवत्ता’ आहे.
8. Shaikh Hassan Khan, a 36-year-old Kerala government employee, has climbed Mount Vinson, the highest peak in Antarctica. This is the fifth peak that Shaikh Hasan Khan has conquered.
शेख हसन खान या 36 वर्षीय केरळ सरकारी कर्मचारी यांनी अंटार्क्टिकामधील सर्वोच्च शिखर माउंट विन्सनवर चढाई केली आहे. शेख हसन खानने जिंकलेले हे पाचवे शिखर आहे.
9. IIT Madras developed ‘AMRIT’ technology for removing Arsenic and Metal ions from water. ‘AMRIT’ uses nano-scale iron oxy-hydroxide. It removes arsenic when water is passed through it.
IIT मद्रासने पाण्यातील आर्सेनिक आणि धातूचे आयन काढून टाकण्यासाठी ‘AMRIT’ तंत्रज्ञान विकसित केले. ‘अमृत’ नॅनो-स्केल आयर्न ऑक्सी-हायड्रॉक्साइड वापरते. जेव्हा पाणी त्यातून जाते तेव्हा ते आर्सेनिक काढून टाकते.
10. Recently introduced, the Post Office Bill, 2023 aims to repeal the Indian Post Office Act, 1898, which has been in existence for 125 years.
