1. SpaceX attempted to launch a test flight of its Starship spacecraft from a rocket, but it didn’t go as planned. The vehicle exploded because the upper and lower stages didn’t separate correctly.

2. China recently held a meeting with the trade ministers of the five Central Asian countries – Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Kyrgyzstan – as part of the C+C5 grouping.

3. Justice Sarasa Venkatanarayana Bhatti has been appointed as the Acting Chief Justice of the Kerala High Court by the President, using the power conferred by Article 223 of the Constitution of India. The appointment is effective from April 24, 2023.

4. Madhya Pradesh CM Shivraj Singh Chouhan instructed the development of the Gandhisagar Sanctuary as a habitat for cheetahs in the next six months during a meeting with the Wildlife Advisory Board.

6. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) has granted a three-year period to HDFC Bank for fulfilling the priority sector lending norms (PSL) after its merger with HDFC Ltd (HDFC).

7. Mastercard has partnered with M1xchange to introduce a digital invoice discounting solution called Farm Pass for farmers, FPOs, and agri-MSMEs. This initiative aims to help these groups access working capital by allowing them to get paid early for their produce. The solution enables digitization of invoices and payment transactions, providing farmers with access to finance and reducing the risk of delayed payments.

8. The Morgan Stanley report projects India’s GDP to grow at 6.2 percent in FY24, and predicts that inflation in India will be below 5% in the second quarter of the calendar year 2024.

10. Sidharth Rao, who co-founded and served as the CEO of Webchutney, has passed away due to a fatal cardiac arrest. In 1999, he founded India’s first and top digital agency, Webchutney.
