1. According to the 2024 Global Report on Food Crisis (GRFC), a significant number of individuals, approximately 282 million, hailed from 59 countries and territories and encountered severe acute starvation in 2023. This study reveals a twenty-four million-person increase worldwide compared to the previous year, with one in every five individuals evaluated necessitating critical urgent action.

It outperforms models twice its size across multiple benchmarks in language, reasoning, coding, and mathematics, despite its diminutive size.ChatGPT, Claude, and Gemini are examples of AI applications that rely heavily on language models. In order to address typical language challenges like text classification, question response, text generation, and document summarization, they undergo training using pre-existing data.

In order to finance eligible green projects in India, REC Ltd, a leading Non-Banking Financial Company (NBFC) and Maharatna Central Public Sector Enterprise (CPSE) under the Ministry of Power, Government of India, has been granted a green loan in the amount of Japanese Yen (JPY) 60,536 billion (approximately Rs 3,200 crore).

Government officials in Tamil Nadu have been directed by the Madras High Court to enforce the National Commission for Protection of Child Rights’ Guidelines for Elimination of Corporal Punishment in Schools (GECP). In granting interim orders in response to a petition submitted by Kamatchi Shanker Arumugam, Justice S M Subramaniam issued the directive to the Principal Secretary to Government, School Education Department.

7. Researchers have identified the furthest-known occurrence of a massive burst of energy from a magnetar, which is a form of neutron star characterised by extremely powerful magnetic fields. This magnetar was found in the Messier 82 (M82) galaxy, sometimes referred to as the “Cigar Galaxy.” The flare emitted a burst of gamma rays that included an energy level equal to the production of our sun over a period of 10,000 years, all within a duration of just one-tenth of a second.
